We have an all white female named Tika. My fiance used to breed her until she had issues during a litter.

Amazing dogs just have to be stern with them. She talks all sweet to her and gets no where. She knows when "Dad" talks its time to listen. Love her to death.

Enjoy the puppy.

Better than Expected.

When we first got him, he would grab on to their fur on their back, and they would drag him around the house.
They have since put a stop to that, lol

Right now the puppy is maybe 6-8 pounds and those 2 cats are 15 and 17 pounds so they do a nice job of keeping him in order

Yep yep.. it works great.

I had a rott that ended up being 106lbs. My cats had that dog in check as a puppy and it was never ever an issue. Amazing the impression those fuzzy paws of a hissing cat can leave on a dog.

But if you get them young enough, they're fine? I take it that there's no serious prey drive issues with Shiba Inus and they eventually find harmony?

They're one of my favorite dogs but my wife's 6 year old cat comes first for the next 6-10 years or so.

We adopted a pair of them from an old lady who was moving to a home. A 1 yr old red male and a 2 yr old white female.

The female is our darling, the male killed a few cats (barn cats/farm cats still pets). The female had an issue with a pregnancy so we spayed her and she is a loving companion. The male constantly tried to dig and get out of a VERY large yard to get the cats. He went up for adoption and went to champaign IL to a family.

So she is fine with them, he was not. I think if they are brought into the house young enough it will not be an issue.

My Fiance's shiba is getting old. We just got married and the dog is still at her parents (we cant house it, and she would be crushed to leave her friends).

I'd love to have another one down the road though.
