Looking for Starter Street Bike UNDER $3000 (or swap)

I have a friend who is interested in getting into riding. He wants a starter bike, old is fine, good running order, that is streetable. Looking for a 600 or 750, old school.

He has a 96 Jeep Cherokee Classic with a lot of nice stuff done to it. Looking to trade... or sell the Jeep and get a bike.

Does anyone know of anyone who has a bike that might fit his bill? He has been looking and has found a few things in this price range, 98 GSX750, etc... 01 600, 01 750. He needs to sell the jeep first or TRADE.

Post up if you have any ideas, thanks!

dang, wish my bike was worth as much as the jeep. lol

i've been thinking about finding a cheap truck(something that can tow, basically) for my bike, then trade the accord for something upgraded.

very true, only took me a year to finally get it back together

not looking too hard though, as I just threw in as much money as I spent on this thing in parts, maintenance and otherwise. lol

Nevermind didn't realize it was sold. Oops.

Not a great starter bike, but I have an '02 FZ1 I would consider trading - but need info on the Jeep. Hard or soft top, color, miles, auto, manual, etc. I'm pushing my Xterra past 100k (I think it's fine) but it may not hurt to have a back up car instead of a back up bike, you know?

- Dan

Just reread - not wrangler, cherokee....send info anyway.

Beware the Rickroll....

it's a cherokee, not a wrangler. 96 chero classic would be a 4.0l straight 6 with an auto.

How about a Triumph Daytona 600? I was looking to get a lil more than 3000 bux ... its got brand new tires (less than 300 miles on em) same with oil change (full synthetic) and brakes ( race compound up front) 15,000 miles. Mechanically perfect and visually as well (from more than 15 feet way). Some cracks and rash on right side.

Also, new chain and larger rear sprocket later this week.
[also has some yellow L.E.D.'s and a Jardine RT-One carbon fiber pipe]
