Hey...

I'm new to the Chicago area and (finally) found this site. I just wanted to introduce myself and whatnot, and ask if anyone had any suggestions for a newbie... popular meetings places, rides, etc (I live in the city but would rather be riding out in the 'burbs). Anyway it's nice to meet y'all...

Just tryin' to figure out what's goin' on out there. Everyone with bikes in the city (it seems) have turned into pussies because the temp. dropped below 70 degrees... wanted to get as much riding in as I could before the city iced over :).

I've heard of a party in lincoln Park this weekend, and another bit further north a couple weeks after that.

Keep checking, there's lots of stuff going on here.

Plenty of that around here. Most of us log at least 5000 miles a summer.:D

I live near sheffield and Belmont and I rode on Monday. I got a few more weeks before I park my bike so we'll hook up sometime. There's a few others from the Lincoln Park area, but not too many.

That's crazy. My best friend lives at Belmont and Sheffield. Anyway I'm just a few blocks down by fullerton and lincoln. We oughta get some people together this weekend or whatnot. I've been out ridin' 3 nights already this week... gotta do it before it gets too damn cold eh...

i have a friend that lives at Lincoln and Larabee. usually, we start nights out at Halligans. good cheap beer.

anways, I'm the one having the party at Katacomb's this weekend. Its near Armitage and Lincoln. the details are in the social gatherings section!

I know where Katacombs... we just had dinner at Brick's last night. $30 for 9-midnight ain't half bad... I might have to roll up in there. That whole area up and down lincoln is great... I live right next to Barleycorn (p.s. if CLSB ever wants to throw a party there I got the hookup with the bartender... and the bouncers ALWAYS watch the bikes parked outside).

where's halligan's again? I don't think I've ever been there.

:mad time for you to get 'learned' on alcohol

Jameson is the finest (heh) Irish Whiskey around. It's known as "devil's water" among the Irish. I have no idea why :evil

I usually drink it straight or on the rocks out of a lowball (the 'short' glasses at a bar) because it is very smooth.

If you live right next door to Barleycorn....then Halligan's is ACROSS THE STREET from you! its on the corner of Belden (i think) and Lincoln

Heh heh. Yeah that's right. I told you I was new to the area. So it's right by Wisefool's and Kendal's and all that then :)... I generally don't venture to the 'other' side of the street.

I've already been on one ride... unfortunately due to the weather Ken and I were the only ones who actually showed up... :)... I'll be at any get-together that gets advertised... I'm really looking forward to meeting more motorcycle addicts :)
