pfff, Stewart Copeland blew Peart away backinthe. If you go for that technical style then it's gotta be Cobham of Narada Michael Walden

I'll give ya Copeland but a whole diff style - He ripped Reggae back beats on the 2 and 4 rather than the typical 1 and 3 - Kinda like Bonham did in his early works - The Police are one of my Top 5 favs man - GREAT CALL :bow

Still, Rush, LIVE - So fuckin CLEAR and precise - Reminds me of when Gaberial rocked in his younger years

All of Rush was/is great musicians. I just could never get past Geddy Lee's voice. It's not as bad as Budgie, but I can't listen to his voice.

man, i'm halfway through the velvet underground & nico and I just want to hit the lights, have a stiff drink and smoke a pack.

edit: rush suffers from the ACDC syndrome in which they make the same album 12 times in a row.

I dig your love for Lou - I'll see your VU and raise you a little, "Traffic - Last Exit" - Not the NYC underground tone, but the London style indeed :1pimp

the standard response of all rush fans!! I dont mind them too much in small doses, but I work with 2 raging rush fans and anything more than approximately 12 minutes and Vcook is playing anything else to drown it out.

My Top 3 Drummers:

1. John Bonham - Stereotypes be damned, the dude's the best rock drummer ever

2. Buddy Rich - had the quickest hands in the biz

3. Ginger Baker - Cream & Blind Faith...the dude was on a different level

...sorry Bug, not a Pert fan...i respect the shit out of him, but IMO he's a bit of a pitter patter drummer...i need power baby!!:laughing

Great list. I would need to add Terry Bozzio to that list as well. I am dating myself...Terry performed with Zappa back in the day...was in Missing Persons...and recently with Jeff Beck. The guy is unreal on the skins. Saw him in concert years ago with Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughn...back when Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop album came out.

I know this cat and yes, you are correct - Not so much with MP but could fug it up with Zappa (Billy Was a Mountain) and Jeff Beck was one of those who ALWAYS surronded himself with talent :bow

Also, if your aware of Bozzio, you probably know Carmen Appice of Cactus and Vanilla Fudge...another obscure but FANTASTIC drummer.
