I was reading some old threads and realized that tomorrow is exactly one year since Shannon passed (8/4/2005).
Here's the avatar from last year for anyone that wants to display it:

I have his little green #'s on both my race bike and street bike. When ever I'm riding he's with me. Just like my old man, I miss both of those guys. Good people for sure! That dude was more of a biker than many people will ever be and more straight up than many will ever be. He liked to help people, and sacraficed his time to do so because he loved doing it. Threads like these spark memories, and thats a good thing.
I'll never forget that CLSB track day night before when we were up late as hell boozing it trying to get that heap of shit EX500 running and I must have smashed his fingers in the butterfly for the carbs like 3 times. :laughing

The Yellow armband in my Avitar pic was from the memorial
day we did for Shannon at BHF after he passed away.
It's still too sad to think about.

I just got back from a memorial service with the family at the Lincoln Cemetary in Elwood.
Helps put a lil' closure on it.
Got to ride 200+ miles with Shannon looking over my shoulder today.
Even rode a nice wheelie outta the part in his honor.

Still a hard pill to swallow.
We miss you very much Shannon.
Rest in peace
I've had this as my avatar since things happened last year. I doubt I'll ever change it as long as I'm a CLSB member.
Great guy who's in my thoughts!

Exactly a year ago...... Its so hard to belive that it was all real. Today my thoughts and prayers are with his family, his wife, the girls. I pray they are strong, and that things have been going well.

few weeks back, i was cleaning out my parts bin for the 9r and came across a set of brackets he made for me when i was geting into drag racing the 9r so i can strap my front end down. needless to say i still have them.
if our boy was around i dont think he would want us to be sad, but remember the good times and more so pass on the efforts of helping people like he use to do.
face it, shannon would help just about anyone if he could do it.
even if couldnt he would try anyway:laughing
peace bro.

Fletch, great post, thanks for the picture.
My friend is in a better place watching over us all. For this I give thanks.
Every time I go to the track, my thoughts find their way to Shannon. His willingness to help others will remain the cornerstone of my life. Each and every person I meet at the track reminds me of how special we all are to someone and what an impact we can all make for each other.
It is often said that we enjoy a very dangerous sport and we need to always remember we are the main influence to the safety of our fellow riders. As I think of Shannon's contribution, I'm reminded of the fellowship we also enjoy.
As we pass our fellow riders, give them a little more room. Remember the varying skill levels. Help those when given the chance. And don't forget to party.
YTRAP = "Party" spelled in reverse
I'm saddened by our lose, but still humbled by his contribution to my life.
