I heard what happened and I thought that's typical Nick!!! Didn't race this weekend but taught a BRC - difference is prob. $800 (make $350 instead of spending $500)! If I was gainfully employed it would be a no-brainer.

We made it out there late yesterday... I'm sure we didn't get around to everyone but it was great seeing those we did. Can't believe it's already into "wait til next year"!

Wait I'm not fully to blame. He's been taking over most wrenching issues himself.
Truth is he's not going to let Paul beat him EVER.He told me he had the clutch wrong and still beat paul.
And that oil pan is his deal not mine.
You'll all notice as the years go on his hillbilly side shines through.3 top 10 finishes in his first races of the year ?Not to bad.

One fastener was missing off my belly pan. If I would have came in on the black flag Paul would have beat me. Even though I got the DQ I slept well knowing Paul did not beat me in that race and I got 4th place. Whether it was on the official results or not, I don't really care.

Or if you pulled over to one of the corner stations when you first were given a debris flag we probably could had got you back out in a few seconds afterwards. I've zip tied a bunch of stuff on racebikes when cornerworking. Hell I put GAS in a bike at my corner when someone ran out 2 laps into a 30 min race.

If someone would have waved a bundle of zip ties at me or a roll of duct tape at me instead of that debris flag I might, just might have pulled in.

Or if you pulled over we may have deemed it ok to continue and left it alone.
We had another guy we had to black flag off because he apparently didnt understand a debris flag waveoff. His belly pan was full.

Nick is the only guy out there with a bike more ghetto than mine
and he is waaaay faster on it than I am on my ghettoblaster
I still maintain he gets around corners better because he has a fancy exhaust pipe :laughing

i think its the sticky ductape belly pan that keeps him glued to the track at those speeds

maybe i'm missing something here, but isn't it a little inappropriate to be intentionally ignoring debris/black flags out there?

Biaggi did it in 500GP. What year was that? 1998. It was his rookie season. If not for that black flag, he might have beaten Doohan for the crown.

how does that apply to club racing at blackhawk?

I think he just compared Nick to Max
in one way is flattering....
But in another way is totally deserving of a hard cock punch! :)

For one thing, it's Nick. I'm sure the cornerworkers are infornmed that if he isn't hit squarely in the shield he isn't going to see such a petty flag.

My bike was destroyed in early september at Gingerman because someone sprayed coolant all over the track. Another rider coach with STT crashed right infront of me on the coolant that someone else sprayed everywhere, and by the time I noticed he was down I was already down. My bike slid at an alarming rate of speed and smashed directly into Todd's bike. Todd's GSXR1000 frame snapped completely in half. My tank, subframe and bodywork was all destroyed. To get the bike back going I had to make a race track legal belly pan made out of chicken coop wire and fiberglass and run a dirtbike number plate on a vortex fairing bracket with table leg cap on the end.
The bike is straight and put together correctly. I just lost one fucking fastener on the back mount.
It was silly of me to ignore the safety crew and officials. I did apologize to all of them after the fact. I knew exactly what was wrong and pretty much new I was going to be DQ'd for the action. But I didn't want to let a hounding friend beat me. If I would have pulled in the entire purpose of me racing that weekend would have been flushed down the toilet. I beat Paul and I slept well that night.:D
Some people only concentrate on being pretty and looking good when they are at the track. If the bike is functional and put together correctly I ride the damn thing. It's not my intention to spend any money I don't have to. All you pretty boyz and girlz can kiss my:moon:

You know i love you Nick and I am good friends with you but the picture says it all.....ur bike is not functional, its unsafe for racing conditions.
You say it was only one fastner? What if that bellypan would have flew off and caused a wreck like you where in at Gingerman???
I know what if what if blah blah blah, but think about it.

The bike is fine, the belly pan was the problem. Stupid belly pan:mecry:
You saying my bike is not "functional" is a little out of line.
