Cerk Yeah that's what I'm saying, I think Silva has lost the draw he once was because he's SO dominant.

I'm not done rooting against Jones, so he's still a big draw for me

in all fairness to the UFC matchmakers, Silva/Bonnar was a replacement fight after Aldo got hurt (in a motorcycle accident no less)

Cerk I think at this point in Jones' career, from his perspective, it probably is too early for him to fight Silva. He's just gotten his own aura in the sport going...I have a strong feeling he'll let it build for some time..that said, with regards to the "two faced" comment above, I couldn't agree more. He plays to this humble, respectful persona in the octagon, but his actions just don't match it. I understand the business decision in not taking some fights, but great fighters don't turn down fights...not to the extent he already has.

Silva/Jones would be unbelievable...but I don't see it happening. I REALLY hope I'm wrong though.
10-16-2012 04:14 PM
BH foolish for Jones to fight Silva? I don't see it. Jones could control him on the ground pretty easily IMO. plus it would be one of the biggest fights in ufc history, and both of them would make bank.

LockDownMike Grover Texiera was the whole reason I watched the card. That was the Main event for me. That guy is ROWDY!

I was screaming at the bar "STOP THE FIGHT" "THROW IN THE TOWEL" surely enough it got stopped. I understand a fighter trains hard. I dabbled in martial arts and know what it's like to work out 110% to the point you sit down and feel like crying from exhaustion. I know these guys make a living and want to win, but there is a point where you have to realize you've been outclassed and all you are doing is taking on more punishment, and opening yourself up to more chance for serious injury. There is always that (Punchers Chance) but at Glovers level he was just controlling the whole time.

Anderson just makes a mess out of people. Pound for pound best fighter in the world no argument. There is nobody for him to fight. I don't think GSP will fight him and it's a bad fight for GSP I feel.

Anderson is much larger than GSP. I would be more entertained by Jones vs Silva however I still don't think that Jones is on Silva's level nor will he be. Silva does things that just look fake. I was LOLing when I saw him rolling punches from Bonnar. How he just walked up the the cage and said "GO AHEAD" with his eyes. It was spectacular in a terrible way.

People call Silva a pussy for not fighting Jones. You have to remember this... Silva fought Sonnen 2 times. Injured the first time and dominated the second. Jones ducked Sonnen when he had no to fight. I don't like Jones as a person. I feel he is two faced however this is a sport and as a fighter he is very good and has a unique unorthodox way of handling business. The reality of the situation is Jones never fought Silva. It would be foolish for him to do it. I would love to watch it.

Silva is just too fast, to agile, has BJJ black belt. Knock out power from angles you wouldn't fathom to be possible. He is the ultimate nightmare for a person to to fight. 16 straight wins in UFC. That demands respect. He has fought the best of the best and comes out with his hand raised every time. Am I a fan boy you bet!

He should retire though before it's too late. He is moving up in age but then again look at my other personal favorite Randy Couture man was like 50 and had that grandpa strength.

Cerk Honestly, is it getting to the point where Anderson Silva is actually getting BAD for the sport? To do what he did to Bonner, amazing. It's almost gotten to be where people don't even watch the Silva fights, because it's just so damn easy for him.

...and that Grover Texiera fight was just nuts!

BH anyone else see the Grant VS Dunham fight on the 152 prelims? Awesome scrap!

BH Shogun turned it down too. I thought I read somewhere that Dana said others were offered the fight before Chael, but I can't find it again....

Cerk The comments are the best part of that article. I honestly think that the UFC has generated some of the most mis-informed "fans" on the planet. Combat sports tend to lend themselves to that I guess.

While I suppose I understand Jones refusing the Sonnen fight, it really makes him look pretty bad.

ravenr1 UFC 151 cancelled due to Hendo injury. Bummed, was really looking foward to that fight too. Guess they tried to get Chael in there but Jones refused.
