If you can find an oil cooler use it. It's a nice little add on for the SV motor. The 1st gen actually has the spots where if you want to you could tap into. The 2nd gen uses the oil cooler. All models have the spots in the cases.
its perfectly fine to wire your filter that way
not ideal but things seldom are, the wire only needs to prevent the filter from coming loose after its properly installed, it doesnt pull it tight or keep it on, merely insurance
That would not pass tech when I was racing. The clamp should be flipped the other way, and the safety wire should be pulling across the top to keep it snug should the filter come loose.
Impossible. Houdini oil filters are banned from racetracks. All the other ones should be fine.
