+8 to 24.5 total. Almost hit my pre season goal of 8 miles under 8 minutes per mile with a HR under 170. I think that's where I need to be for this season to have a decent run in an Olympic.

Soooo...I have two partially herniated discs in my back. I do exercises to help strengthen the area and generally don't have issues with pain unless I do a lot of standing or spend 8hrs painting

or whatever. Question is, should I be running? It doesn't hurt when I go because of all the extra stretching I do. But, I know if I do 3hrs of yard work and run after, I'll be in a world of hurt. I guess I should switch to a stationary bike...no impact?

I would talk to your doctor. I have back issues as well, If I pay attention to my form it doesn't bother me to run.

Thanks. Same here. Taper starts here. Which is good! I felt like crap on today's run. Pushed myself over the edge this week with intervals and tempo runs. So I guess I feel exactly how I should for being at peak training.

hopefully it all pays off.
