So the landlady said she'll replace the carpets and the floors if I do the labor putting it down (not the carpet, just the kitchen and bathroom). I read good enough things about HD's Allure vinyl flooring and it was the perfect option to go over a disgusting, painted over vinyl sheet that was laid about a million years ago. I'm sure you could do a small bathroom for 1 box/$40. I just painted all the walls, too. Another part of our "deal".

Here it was, you can't see all the scuffs, stains, and marks in the pics:

Under the oven, yummy:

And now:

Easy peasy:

Aaaand we're done (just some trim left):

Still need a lot of furniture but I'm getting there. I've been rocking craigslist pretty hard bc I only took a few things from Chicago. I've also been spending way too much time getting this place refreshed, but it's gonna be worth it.

Looks good dude. The Allure vinyl flooring is what I used in my enclosed race trailer for the flooring and it works great. I am sure you will be happy with it.

Man. Nice job. If the price is right, I might try that in the kitchen too. You didn't have to pull up the old tile?

that's the first thought i had... this stuff would work well in a trailer. you don't have problems when it's hot and the glue "melts" a little?

the price is definitely right... $320 for the kitchen/dining area and a tiny bathroom. it went down right over the vinyl sheet flooring that was already there. i had to cut some of the corners of the original vinyl because it curved up at the wall. the best part is that the floor isn't perfectly flat so laminate might have been a problem. the allure follows the contours perfectly.

they also have peel and stick tiles that you can space and use with real grout.

yep definitely worth talking to the landlord about it. i've got the same vinyl crap tile in the kitchen now.

At least you found your black dildo under the stove, I bet you were going crazy looking for that thing.
