6 x 12 Enclosed - What wheel/rim are you using?

2 months ago while helping a friend move I got a flat. Put the spare (it's a full size) on and continued. Today I see the other tire is low on air, so I go to put air in, and the nipple is torn and leaking massive air right at the base.

So...it's time for 2 new tires. Since the rims are rather old and pretty rusted, I'm going to replace those too.

I see I have some choices when it comes to the wheel. They're 14" and come in white (what I currently have), galvanized steel, and aluminum.

Any of those recommended over the others?

White: http://www.etrailer.com/Tires-and-Wh...a/AM32153.html

Galvanized: http://www.etrailer.com/Tires-and-Wh...a/AM32156.html

Or the fancy aluminum: http://www.etrailer.com/Tires-and-Wh...a/AM32151.html

Just stick with the style on it already. Its a trailer, not a show car and why put rims on that could get stolen because they are aluminum.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Just go to Menards and get a new wheel and tire. Just check that the load rating is correct.

Was just wondering if one of the other tires would resist weather better than the white ones that are on there. I personally like the white ones though as it matches the car towing it!

Tried that...no luck. They only had the non-full size "spare" tire.

Thanks. Checked a tire place on North Ave (suburban tire). They had 1 tire and no rim in stock. Held off on using the trailer today, and will pickup the wheels/tires. Won't be hard finding them locally during the week, Sunday on the other hand...2 places that should have them were closed.

Make sure to keep them cleaned & waxed before storage.

I have had good luck with the Goodyear marathon trailer specific tires for the trailer, for the car, not so much!
