New Truck-Need New Tires

I bought a new truck and will be putting new A/T tires on it soon.
These will be LT not P tires. I do use it off road a considerable amount and also tow from time to time. I also spend time in the boonies.

Not sure that's enough back round but - Do you guys buy the road hazard warranty's from the tire shops? Let's assume it somewhere around $20 per tire and covers most anything that could happen to a tire.

New Subby?

Both cars, especially mine, seem to attract potholes annually so the insurance has been worth it so far.

Keep in mind that if you "use" the insurance, they typically require you to pay for it again for that tire.

I always go to discount tire and their warranty also covers lifetime balance and rotation. I have got my money out of them.

First of all I would go with Goodyear wrangler silent armor, or BFg all terrains. I have had both on and off road significantly and they are excellent tires. Although the goodyears are quieter on the highway.

I have the warranty from just tires on my avalanche. It's full replacement, not prorated if something happens to them. So at about 30000 miles I will mysteriously drive through a pile of nails. J/K...... Maybe

If you need a contact I have one at the just tires in weaton.

They have treated me well over the years.

Can you buy Firestone tires elsewhere or at Firestone dealers exclusively?

I will never again buy good year tires. EVER. They r junk. They suck new u til u get about 100 miles in them. Once u get to about 15000 on them, they never grip well again unless u have 4x4 engaged. And still slip. On or off road.

O ly tire I will ever buy again is bf goodrich traction t/a's. Models I have are great and I have a fwd scion XB.

Good years suck. Period. Junk junk junk

Also, go to Costco to get them. They have great pricing. Add only $15 per tire for lifetime reacement. And will rotate n balance free.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Thanks for the feedback on the Goodyears and BFG but I don't think we're comparing apples to apples with a Scion XB

Ryan on the board works at a firestone dealer and can take care of you well, it would be a bit of a drive for you though as he's down in Justice.

I had a goodyear delaminate on me, like a retread! Fucked up the whole side of my truck. Im gonna vote for the Bridgestone Dueller AT's, great mud and snow traction, not loud, priced right and good mileage outta them.

Firestone Destination A/T and Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos are both great tires, on and off road. I have Revos on my Tundra and had the Destination A/Ts on my Wrangler. The Destinations are usually $30-$40 per tire cheaper. I don't know if the drive down to Justice would be worth it for you but I can get you prices if you want.

That's the size you're looking for now? If so:

Firestone Destination A/T $815 including mounting and balancing.

Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo $985 including mounting and balancing.

have these on my truck now. good tires. were cheap when I got them but have gone up drastically recently.

I think if I were looking for tires right now I would go with the Hankooks. Great reviews. Good price.
