June RA Races...SBK2 or NWGP?

Need some info on this race weekend.

Looking for bike requirements, classes, schedules (race times?), entry fees......

I did some looking on the old intarweb but didn't come up with anything very good.

Doesn't one of the orgs use the dirt and the other doesn't?

Both run Dirt - Just in Diff classes - Some reg about certain classes are DOT only and certain classes are age specific too - The SBK2 cats are pretty damn fast all around - There are a few fast guys in NWGP but the field is not as stacked as SBK2 IMHO

Bill, Collin and Taint can explain better

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

NWGP doesn't use the dirt section for the RA weekends.

SBK2 rules/classes/entry: http://www.superbikers2.com
NWGP rules/classes/entry: http://rockfordriders.com/mybb2/forumdisplay.php?fid=15

they don't have the raceday schedules up yet for that weekend.
if they do it the same as the last couple of years:

Sat AM: NWGP practice, qual, Race 1
Sat PM: SBK2 practice, qual, Race 1
Sun AM: NWGP practice, qual, Race 2
Sun PM: SBK2 practice, qual, Race 2

Thanks, that clarifies it. I was confused since both orgs listed this race on their calendar. So for a couple of slow sumo noobs, NWGP would be the one to run I assume?

Looks like I'll be doing NWGP touring group? That seems like the slow man group. Any idea what the entry fees cover?

the touring group for NWGP is good for first timers, and the SS Superbikers2 class typically isn't too bad either if you want to run dirt. The SS class is technically the "budget" class and not a "novice" class, so there are still some really fast guys up at the front, but the mid to back of the field is not as fast as the 450 or Open. SS requires DOT tires and a few other restrictions -no marchesini or alpina wheels, no slipper, etc.

for RA, your class entry fee ($60) gets you practice, qual, and racing for both sat. and sun. you also have to have a license for either SBK2 or NWGP. RA charges a gate fee too. And if you want to camp...... another fee.

I can't run SS due to a 16.5 front wheel.

that sucks.
at one point they had a displacement restriction on the SS class too.
I understand the intent of the SS rules, but I think it would probably draw more people if they just made it a novice class with no equipment restrictions.

You can email Glenn, i think they allowed 16.5s as long as your tires are dots.

I will roll up Sat and get a Hotel for Sat night

I have my EZ UP as well - Need to get the Husky tended to with oil and such first

Shit, just saw Race 1 is on Sat - Fuck - I forgot about the amount of "sitting in the pits" you do this weekend when you only run 1 class - We are done on Sat by lunch - Hmmmmm

Do we really get done racing that early? That's actually nice. I can drink beer and spectate the vintage racing or help out in Grasshopper's pit as needed.

Practice is usually like 15-20 mins and Qul is usually 10-15 mins - Race is prob a 12 or 15 lap and avg lap (depending on course layout) is about 50 seconds to a min
