New Supermoto Pro Series in 2012?

I just saw this posted in Supermotojunkie:

I have to say, I have a very hard time seeing it being successful in this economy, but its interesting to see people still trying to put it together.

They tentatively have a round scheduled at Shawano! I wonder if they have some money backing them that might bring some of the big names back out of the woodwork?

Yeah, it's Dennis Anderson - The cat from Sunnyvale who runs SuperMoto online

He had a small 5 (I thunk 5) Race Series on the W Coast this summer and he wants to try and expand - No idea on backing tho

Mitch hanson was talking about this on Sunday - pretty cool. So Colin you gonna put back on your leathers and old AMA #?

DO YOU WANT TO BE A BETTER DIRT OR MX RIDER OR LEARN TO RIDE DIRT?

I figured he was behind it. He has a lot of passion for the sport, hopefully he can put something together that works.

It would be nice if they could run like they did in '05 & '06 at RA on the same weekend as the AMA Superbike series. That really gave SM some great exposure. Its the weekend before the SBKII/NWGP races, so it wouldn't conflict with that.

The track at Shawano is really cool, but even in the AMA heyday (a grand total of 4 years), they couldn't get more than about 500 or so fans there to watch.

I've got a bike. I've got gear. My track record even for making it out to a practice day hasn't been too good lately, so we'll see. If it happens, I would like to...

Mitch was saying it is Dennis Andersen that is promoting the series.
