690 in the shop...

Dropped off my smc at the dealer since it quit on me and I couldn't sort it out. That's what a warranty is for I guess, so there is a silver lining. While anxiously anticipating the cause and subsequent fix, what else to do but order up a pod air filter kit and exhaust for a my upcoming birthday. Fuck it, I've earned it
Love the bike and from what I can tell whatever the cause its a fluke, these bikes are some of the most reliable sumo's around. Can't wait to get it back and pull the cork to finally get it running the way it should

Turns out its the fuel pump, should be getting it replaced under warranty with only a couple weeks to spare before its up. Hopefully they get the part and install quick because I'm itching to install the shit I keep buying: rally raid fuel filler, EVO pod filter kit (no cam), and Leo Vince slip-on, all of which have already arrived and just sitting in the garage. The longer I'm without my bike the more likely I am to keep buying more shit Next possibilities could be levers, GoPro kit, leathers and a trailer...I'm in trouble over here

Its a weird reflex. Bike not in garage = compensate by purchasing parts for said bike. I dont mind it but my wife probably has a different opinion

so I got the 690 back and promptly tore it apart, pulling all the emissions shit, stock airbox and exhaust. In went an EVO 2 pod filter kit (wish I got the cam too) and Leo Vince slip on. Loaded a new map that seems to be in the ballpark. Ditched the rear tail light too and swapped in a DRC edge with integrated t/s. Got rid of the junk key-operated fuel-pissing when on one wheel fuel cap, installed a rally-raid mx style spin on. This bike is coming along nicely now. Not 100% on the leo vince, a bit loud for ripping in town and sound isn't all I hoped for but its not far off and better than stock, so it works for now. Next step is to finally set up the suspension as I haven't touched it, but I know I'll be sending it out to get it right. That may wait til the off season, would love to get this thing on-track this year so need to get my ducks in a row. Once this thumper gets a bath I'll post some updated pics. Loving this bike!

hold up...working on leathers. Craigslist to the rescue!
If I scramble, I might be able to buy and build a harbor freight trailer in time. Need to track prep the bike too

Do I need to register in advance or can I just show up?
