Post Lightning on the Wolf Pro/Am race at Shawano WI

This weekend a bunch of us locals went up and raced supermoto against the big boys in the country. Weather turned out to be perfect and the dirt sections where great because of Monte Frank from OK.

Got my forks back from FBI and tossed some new Dunlops on for this weekend along with finally running race gas. After the engine rebuild I was told to run at least 100 octane. I have been running regular 93 pump gas so I was not getting the most out of my bike so I figure its time to step it up and run to go go juice. $150 a 5 gallon pail for MR12 is steep but I figured I would do it for the season and see how it goes. After the races the bike was dropped off at Fuel Moto to be Dynoed and tuned in perfectly so I can get all the HP I can out of it and have it run flawlessly.

Loaded up and ready to go

It rained Saturday morning so we had a green track for practice and qualifying. Here are the results and grids for the weekend. I am marked down ad 259 even though my real # is 245. Goes to show you I do not know how to fill out paperwork at registration.

I ended up getting a 2nd and a 3rd in the Behind Chase Guthrie and second race behind Chase and Phil. Lost to phil by a fricken tire. I should have been more agressive as I was on his ass the whole race.

The dirt races where a different story. During practice I was jumping the double wrong as I was letting off the gas at teh base of the jump and landign on the face of the jump. I was killing my ankles. I have never jumped a double, ever so I was a little nervouse about it. Well I pussied out and rolled the doubles and was not happy and got my ass handed to me.

Second dirt race on Sunday I manned up and decided I need to clear this thing if I want to have any chance to futher my sumo season. Well I got advice from Roman, Ryan Chase and Monte and cleared the doubles. I did have an issue later on in the race as I died the bike out in the dirt and took a whole lap to get it restarted so I didn't finish as good as I wanted lol

2 good things happened... did not crash in the dirt and also cleared the double and don't think I will have an issue again with it.

Here are some pick of the weekend

second place finish

third place finish

Hopefully the other guys will post up about the weekend

Its alot of fun racing under the lights esp. when there are alot of fans cheering you on like last year so come on out I will have the grill and free beer for who ever spectates from CLSB.

Yeah you know me I am determined to learn how to ride dirt sections. This old dog can learn new tricks. LOL Trust me when I say this not to many things scare me but when it comes to jumping I just always have the feeling that I am going to eat shit and bust myself up. LOL

Like you said all it took was one time to clear it cleanly and I was not as scared.

Nice work ladies - Looks like too much fun

Well id be scared too if i was you after the triple mobius explosion crash at Brads on his double, in fact after being ringside for that one i woulda sold all my shit and retired!

Just bustin balls man - good job, get your ass to some club57 classes and i guarantee youl drop at least 2-3 secs of your times when they run dirt as historically your about 6 secs off pace when we run dirt - i told you when ever brad has a school out his moms you can use my 125, its 10 mins from my crib and i can bring it out for you to ride! he usually does his intro classes out there and not byron. let me know man.
