Werd, particularly if I were to actually own the bike in question. There are hundreds of blown up motor horror stories out there for the SVX line.

Jeezus, that thing is fucking tits. Other than the 650, is there a street legal version of any KTM SM? Because that's what makes that Aprilia so appealing.

That is so true! It seems to be a engine case sealing problem where the cases are leaking antifreeze/water and it is mixing with the oil. Not good! Apparently the 08 models have all those problems (starter ones too) worked out, so if you're going to buy one, get an 08.

GTG, I bet if you rode an SXV 550, you would never choose the KTM over it.

Someone please buy my Factory so I can get one of these!!

Just the 690 SMC

The ape isn't really a streetbike. It has a race-bike maintenance schedule and from what I'm told you have to drop the motor out of the frame to check the valves, which must be done pretty frequently. Too much and too complicated for a street bike, IMHO.

Yep, all of that can be done right out of the KTM hard parts catalog. The motor is different and the plastics are cooler looking, but all the bits that help go fast can be put on the 05-06 450s as well.
