Just a quick update on the sound issue: So far this year we've been doing pretty good on keeping the exhaust noise to a minimum. There have been a few bikes that have pushed (or exceeded) the limit a little and it was probably a mistake on our part to let that slide. On sunday we got a reminder from the ownership that we need to keep it under 95dB while on track.

According to our informal testing, 95dB on track equates to less than 100 dB using the AMA testing procedure.

Bottom line, it takes a pretty quiet bike to meet these limits. Stock Husky 450/510 SMR, and KTM 450 SMR are right on the limit. These bikes are setup as "woods" bikes with restricted mufflers. MX bikes with stock or aftermarket muffler do not pass.

At this point we shouldn't expect any more warnings. Les and Andy have been polite and gracious with us up to this point, but the handwriting is on the wall. Any bike (or kart) that is excessively loud jeopardizes their business. We need to work to keep on top of this issue before we lose a fun place to ride.

If you are unsure of your bikes sound level please ask one of us to test it before heading out on track. We can even do it before you pay to ride.

IF YOUR BIKE IS TOO LOUD YOU WILL BE TOLD NOT TO RIDE.
PERIOD END OF STORY!

I hate that it has to come to that but myself and the other guys have way too much time and effort invested in this to ruin being able to ride on this great track. Sound restrictions are becoming a way of motorcycle life, take care of the issue now before we lose our riding rights!

UPDATE NO TRACKDAY THE 22nd!
We need to get the sound issue figured out before going to Norway again.
Please do not go to the track until things are straightened out.

I've updated the links on my first post, to reflect some of the changes that happened last year.
