Norway this Sunday

Assuming that we are still allowed to ride there, my friend Adam and I are planning a track day this Sunday on our slo-tards.
Anyone wants to join us?

I've done a total of 4 track days in my life so I don't think I'm ready for racing yet.
Have fun if you end up going to L.O.L., and I'll see you at the track next time

So, today I drove 1.5 hours to Norway to find out that bikes are banned for good there.
It really bothers me that many people couldn't quiet their bikes even after so many warnings. Especially considering that a spark arrestor/dB dawg cost only $20.
Now it's over for all of us.

That really sucks to hear Daniel. I will miss that place as well.

IMHO, it wasn't about noise as much as it was about us taking time away from the go karts. I'm sorry but some of those karts are way louder than some of our bikes.

but bikes are evil!

that does suck BIGTIME. I've probably been out there 20+ times since I started riding SM last summer.

but before everyone pulls a Joe (Husky Joe, not Aprilia Joe) and sells their bike , keep in mind that we've already started looking for new places to ride SM locally. there's a few paved ovals in the area that just might do the trick. Michigan Supermoto runs trackdays on a paved oval, so there's no reason we can't do the same. There's also still road america and springfield within a few hours.

here's the notice posted on the CHMS website:

Motorcycle Update-
In the past, we have been allowing motorcycles to practice here at CHMS. Unfortunately, we have had some complaints about the noise, and have been formally served notice from the county. We are no longer able to allow bikes on the track. If this changes, we will let you know here as well as through some of the bike groups in the region.

The writing was on the wall at Norway. Time to start looking for other venues. Autobahn and the Paved Ovals look like the best start right now.

This noise shit is getting out of hand, after i left Jeffs in alden today mchenry cty sherrif came out and told jeff to stop riding, he argued back and forth and the cop left and Jeff started riding again, cop came back and Jeff called the cops boss and the top cop said they had to run stock exhausts, Jeff explained that some stock pipes are louder then some aftermarket pipes and the cop still told him they have to run stock. The sherrif started checking bikes and told this guy Gene that his 2007 Cr250f with dual oem exhausts was not oem and Jeff explained that theyare Oem. Fuckin idiots. Pretty soon we will all have to run electric bikes or stock Drzs. Jeffs looking into noise ordinance db regs, i think its like Norway 90db at property line.

the the YZF's and CRF-R bikes are track only bikes not the same as trail bikes with the quieter exhaust /spark arrestors so they are louder.
most of the supermoto bikes are Big cc higher compression track oriented bikes. so this adds to it too.

I have both an R muffler and and X muffler and there is a pretty good difference in sound.

I spent all day thinking about other tracks to ride and I think I'll end up going to Jackson, MI. It's about 3 hours away and it's 1/2 paved, 1/2 dirt with jumps.
Probably the closest real supermoto track I can think of right now.
