So is this a Supermoto race? I've only seen the x-games flying stunt shows.

That would be cool if it happens!

Does anyone know if Nicky practices MX at all? Cause if the course is anything like the one earlier this year, I think its gonna be the Burkhart show again.

from eastern dirt magazine:

Moto GP World Champion, Nicky Hayden to compete in Supermoto in this weekends X Games.

The factory Honda rider asked his employer about racing the event but they didn’t have a bike ready or the man-power to help him. So, they put him in touch with Troy Lee and he will be riding a Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Honda alongside Jeff Ward, David Pingree and Cassidy Anderson.

Nicky tested the bike several times this week and promptly posted lap times at Adams Cart Track in Riverside, one of the local Supermoto tracks, that were a full second quicker than the previous fastest lap at that track. Nicky follwed that up with some laps alongside his new teammates at the Honda supercross test track where he was a little less comfortable. Still, Hayden will be a favorite when the final blasts off the line for the Supermoto final this Saturday at 4:00pm PST. Watch it live on ESPN.

If he has been riding 8 hours of SX each day then I think he may be running up front. I think it may be reaching a little far to call him a favorite. Supermoto isn't the same as it was in 03-04, the guys who race it do it full time now. I think it is great for the sport no doubt, and I hope he does better than Ben (I said hope he will do better than Bostrom). Anyway what do I know he may be practicing Supermoto all day between GP races.

I remember watching that battle in 04 between Bostrom and Seel. that was a great race, and my intro to SM.

hopefully they have a track setup that promotes good (and safe) racing. the layout kinda sucked last summer.

my pics for top five:

Burkhart
Fillmore
Hayden
Reed
Wardy

Just watched heat 1 they annonced that Nicky had hurt his ankle in a crash and was not racing. I think the sx section scared him off.
