Mettet Superbiker 2008

Go Robert and Benny

Quote:
Upon us is the last motor event of the season, a last small review to give you an idea of the pressure around the circuit. This pressure is at its maximum and we heard the pilots are in the same state… They polish their weapons, taking care of their machines and training on their shape to be on the top in spite of the many championships each in their own discipline.

At one hand the United States in the other … the rest of the world. Just imagine the conditions of their training : in the heat of California, in the autumn sun in the South of France or Italy or in the misty cold we know so well… Think of the pilots who come to us from the North: from the top of Finland or Sweden, the Irish pilots of the burned grounds… You have got it : the 22nd Superbiker is indeed a great international race the world envies us.

Who are these pilots? Jeff Ward, Stefan Everts, Stephan Chambon, Troy Corser, Mickael Pichon, Fred Bolley, Yves Demaria, Sven Breugelmans, Joel Smets, Tyla Rattray, Joshua Coppins, Cedric Melotte, Broc Parkes, Garry Mc Coy, Karl Muggeridge, Stefan Nebel, Micky Dymond, Sebastien Le Grelle, Andrea Bartolini, Regis Laconi, Darryl Atkins, Frederic Fiorentino, Gilles Dejong, Eric Delannoy, Cassidy Abderson, Thierry Godfroid, Juergen Kuenzel, Benny Carlson, and Robert Loire will be the stars of this race. There are 320 others of them and, without them, the Superbiker would not be completely the Superbiker de Mettet. Each year, all these pilots want to be present and unfortunately the organizers cannot take them all. It would be an event of a complete week …

That’s the success of the event among the pilots and the spectators.

The spectators will be spoiled this year! The podium Radio Contact presents the very beautiful Nâdiya who will perform her greatest hits.

Later in the afternoon, a breath taking spectacle with the champion and record man of the jump with … a motorbike. Indeed Ronnie Renner carried out a jump of 18 meters in height… you read 18 meters well. The Free Style show will be taken along by this extraterrestrial (inevitably to 18 m in height, there is nothing any more terrestrial!) The photograph of this extraordinary performance printed in the program available near the retailers throughout the circuit.

After this moment of controlled madness, the final will take place of quads and the final of the Superbiker… followed by the traditional podiums… What a beautiful day!

And, like each year, there are many other attractions for young and old: the big wheel of Proximus, a “Splash” contest for a Suzuki car… But we won’t tell you all… just come and visit!

Come and see those stars in action! The entry to the paddocks is free and you will be able to catch some autographs…

That shows the US Riders can hang with the Euros'
Cassidy winning the overall was the first time a US Rider has done it since '91.

Congrats to Robert.
