Nickel Knowlege about Marzocchi Suspension

Quote:
Tenneco, Inc. of Lake Forest, Ill., is the new owner of suspension specialist Gruppo Marzocchi of Bologna, Italy. The acquisition was made through Tenneco’s assumption of Marzocchi’s $15 million in debt.

Tenneco is a $6.2 billion global manufacturing company specializing in emission control and ride control products and systems for the original equipment market and the aftermarket. Tenneco markets its products principally under the Monroe, Walker, Gillet and Clevite Elastomer brand names. The company also is the exclusive supplier of all Harley-Davidson OE mufflers and currently supplies rear mufflers on the BMW R1200 GS and R1200 R models, as well as the manifold-catalyst and rear muffler on the BMW HP2 Sport.

The Marzocchi brand’s customer base includes BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, MV Agusta, the Piaggio Group and others.

Tenneco’s acquisition of Marzocchi includes the Marzocchi brand name; engineering and intellectual property; the leasing of a manufacturing facility in Bologna; sales, marketing and customer service operations in the United States and Canada; and purchasing and sales operations in Taiwan.

“Globally networked engineering and manufacturing facilities and world-class testing facilities enable Tenneco to provide global motorcycle customers not only with integrated suspension systems, including suspension forks, shock absorbers and elastomers, but also to apply advanced emission control expertise gained in the passenger car world to this important market,” says Hari Nair, president, International, Tenneco.

Yeah I know not a whole lot of help, I just thought it was interesting that the company that just bought them is in Lake Forrest.

I'll get out soon. Leave me alone. I'm working in the garage.
