New Bike...

Looking for an 07 or newer Husky 510 street legal. Anybody seen any deals lately? Just kicking tires at this point. Not sure how serious I am. Wifey needs a scoot for the summer and she wants a Sumo. It's either going to be another Ape or the Husky.

Yeah!! Another Sumo Rider.

Why 510 and not 610 for street legal duty and much less maintenance?

I've test rode both and the 510 is for me (re: for her). I liked the 510 way more and I'll be riding it as much as her.

Says the guy who tried to kill his husky. Lucky you didn't get it to stay running.

Unicorn Joe tell the wife to buy a Husky 450 that way when she passes me on the track I don't have any excuses. If she has a 510 I can still claim that she is lighter and has a bigger motor. <---Me

That's actually not a bad idea... That way I have a bike that I can use and not have to go unlimited or something crazy.

Dont make me put the slicks on and run you wide into the grass. You and Geo can help each other pick your bikes up.

edit: That is if I can get my bike started after mixing in a gallon of gas with the oil.

I must say that if I was going to buy a sumo for my wife, I'd make her start on the KLX250SF.
I sat on it at the motorcycle show. That bike is amazing. Very light, the seat is fairly low and the body looks great. Especially if you replace the whole tail section with an Edge led light.
I wouldn't mind riding one myself.

Dongie that is the exact same motor that's in my 07' KLX250S and trust me they are drastically underpowered. Ultra-reliable they take a beating but won't be shocked at how quick it comes out of the corners that's for sure. Maybe I should just sumo the KLX and come out to play with you guys.

Do it! just throw some street rubber on the stock wheels and run it in the sportmoto class, there's usually a wide mix of bikes in that class.

Why does everyone keep showing Joe 250's? His wife knows how to ride. This won't be a first or beginner bike for her. Plus for just grand more than that wrx he I mean she can have another Aprilla

Tires are cheap maybe I'll have to come race the KLX, why not I already used in a hare scramble too. That bike has found more uses than duct tape and zip ties.
