Lol supermoto equipment standards

2009 equipment standards:

All bikes (except minis) must have foot peg sliders.

All machines must have operating front and rear brakes.

Headlight, taillight and turn signals must be removed.

Center and side stands must be removed.

All engine, transmission and final-drive unit drain plugs must be safety wired.

Cooling systems must not contain anti-freeze. Tip: Use distilled water with water-wetter added.

Carburetor vent tubes must be routed into a catch bottle of at least 6 oz. Capacity.

Approved tires

supermoto specific tires

class "c" dirt-tract tires

road race slicks, cut slicks or rain tires

dot tires

no knobby tires allowed

quad note: No knobby's allowed! Must use flat track style tires

number plates

must have a suitable number plate surface on the front and both sides of the bike

motocross or dirt track style plates are recommended

the plate's background color must contrast with the color of the numbers used so that you can be scored

required riding gear

road race or dirt track leathers are highly recommended

motocross gear will be allowed, but must include: Knee cups, hip pads, elbow pads and a chest/back protector or heavy enduro jacket

boots must offer full ankle protection

road race, street or suitably protective gloves

undamaged full-faced road or motocross helmet with face shield or goggles.

I asked Tracy for some clarification on the requirements. It is a little more detailed than just the drain plugs and caps.

no to the axle ---pinch bolts are suggested--- all fluid lines under pressure including oil/water/oil filter housing/and waterpump drain plugs/radiator cap/oil drain
It looks like, and after talking with Rob seems that all the clamps for the radiator hoses need to be safety wired. I've asked Tracy to let me know about banjo bolts for the oil lines.

Edit Oil Line Clamps need to be safety wired.
