First-ever Canadian-American Supermoto Championship
to begin in June hitting four states and two provinces
The six-round championship is presented by 408 Racing,
ESMRA, Mécaglisse Québec and MISuperMoto

USA (April 2, 2009) – A new international championship is coming to the sport of motorcycle racing this summer initiated by the grassroots supermoto community. Even during the current economic climate, riders and fans are calling for more opportunities to participate in and watch pro and amateur racing on an international stage while being close to home. Four promoters, 408 Racing, the Eastern SuperMoto Racing Association (ESMRA), Mécaglisse Québec, and MISuperMoto, have banded together to present the first-ever Canadian-American Supermoto Championship.

The Canadian-American Supermoto Championship will be the series to race on the east coast with class champions earning international title bragging rights. The championship will have pro, amateur and novice classes. Select rounds will also include ATV racing. Thousands of dollars will be up for grabs. Pros from the East coast, Midwest and Canada who may race include names such as Dave Arnold, the Beattie brothers, Mark Burkhart, Jason Colon, Chase Guthrie, Andrew Hyder, Ryan Kerr, Timm Kiener, and Johnny Lewis.

2009 Canadian-American Supermoto Championship
June 13-14 Batavia International Motorsports Park, Batavia, N.Y. (ESMRA)
June 27-28 (tentative)* Shannonville Motorsport Park, Shannonville, ON (408 Racing)
July 18-19* BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, Wampum, Penn. (ESMRA)
August 1-2* Supermoto X Fest 2009, Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci Quebec (Mécaglisse Québec)
August 16 Auto City Speedway, Clio, Mich. (MISuperMoto)
September 5-6* BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, Wampum, Penn. (ESMRA)
*Denotes races where ATV classes will be available.

The same points system will be used by the four promoters to determine the class champions. Each race is run by the individual promoter, and for 408 Racing, ESMRA and MISuperMoto their events are also part of separate regional championships. Race entry and spectator fees and race day schedule are determined by each promoter. Each class is open to any size motorcycle that is set-up for supermoto. You must be at least 16 years of age at the time of the first event in order to qualify for the championship.

To learn more about the events, visit www.408racing.com, www.esmra.com, www.mecaglisse.com, and www.misupermoto.com.

Good that means she will have nothing to do with me.

I had heard that they were putting something like this together.

Depending on how the year goes, I could see trying to hit the last 2 rounds. Maybe even both Beaver Run events. Road trip???

The August at least looks like they will have some beginner classes. So I would definitely be up for that. Now for the other events I'm not sure if I'm up to being Burkhart's backmarker yet. I gotta get faster for that. I would definitely be willing to hang out and make sure your tire pressure is set correctly.

Edit: Well it looks like all the rounds are gonna have Novice classes so a road trip may be in order.

Beaver Run is only a couple of hours from my inlaws, so I could possibly add one of those races to the schedule without too much grief from the boss.

Dude, that is just asking to get yourself hurt. Like I can stop in the dirt. I'll just crash into you.

Hey I'm just being realistic, I'm slow and am bad at riding but dammit I have fun and I'm gonna race this year so loook out.

I'll be doing supermoto 'til I get old. (in other words tnats age)
