NWGP Rd 3 May 31 Badger Kartway.

After a couple of aborted attempts to get out to ride/race this year, I think I'm finally going to make it out to Round 3 of the Northwoods GP Mini RR series at Badger Kartway this Sunday.

Who all is going to make the 2 hr trip up North.

They are having a practice sessions Saturday, the races Sunday. Pavement only.

Not going to be doing that race, supposed to go up to RA to dial the YZ in. Now im not sure about that even, the Boss has been making comments, I might need to have a North Dallas 40 done on me!

That sounds good. Did I tell you moved to the house next door? I was able to get my tire mounted by Jim. It was quick and painless I think. He wasn't able to mount the bridgestone on the supermoto rim, but I was thinking about getting something else anyhow.

Funny, I actually got some comments about how I "never ride" the bikes in the garage this weekend. So I'm going to try to rectify that situation and not get that specific comment again. I even go approval to upgrade the stable to a little newer product!

Anyone interested in a littly used Husaberg?

The RA test & tune idea is very tempting (Tony told me about it last week before he found out his kids were chewing on a bunch of old paint chips ), but I would like to meet the NWGP guys and check out this new track.

If Glenn, can't keep the SBK2 stuff going, NWGP will be the closest option, and they seem to be coming around to the idea of using the dirt sections. Plus, they did the leg work to get bikes on to the Badger facility, and I would like to make sure they have a decent turnout so that bikes keep getting invited back. I know the turn out for the first event wasn't that great due to the weather.

It's about an hour closer than RA and 2 hrs closer than either USAIR or Springfield for me so I'm willing to pay a little extra since this is the last scheduled event there for this year (hopefully more to come).

Tony is raising his kids just like he was raised. Don't give him a hard time. He is just old school

I really don't care where I go, honestly. I think I'll get more track time at RA but at the same time I'll save commute time going to Badger. I would like to meet the NWGP guys. I've already spent more than my fair share of time with Roman.

Roman, I'm totally down for RA! The new suspension is begging to be tested.
If I don't make it to a track real soon, I'm gonna get a ticket for scraping pegs at the Logan Square roundabout

So, what's the decision Geo/Roman? Are you guys going to go up to RA to test or Badger to race?

It looks like this will probably be my last outing on the Husaberg! I hope to have something nice and shiny and Orange lined up by mid-June.

I'm in the process of getting the 450 ready to roll this weekend. Badger is closer but RA has more tracktime, hmmmm. I'm on the fence right now which way I'll go but I like the idea of supporting the NWGP guys.

Cool, I had no idea they were racing bikes at Badger. I used to live less than a mile from that place and have put a few laps there on a kart. I might have to stop out there today.

Geo got it done! His cherry has officially been popped, and he is now officially a Supermoto Racer! He even qualified ahead of me on the grid.

Good times at Badger yesterday. The track is tight, but a lot of fun. There are a couple areas that you get in to 4th gear pretty hard, and some short tight 2nd gear infield stuff. Not an ideal track for a 650 Berg, but fun none-the-less.

We had 11 bikes on the grid for the Supermoto class, and the 2 mini groups were similar in size. Track time was unfortunately limited a little by some red flag incidents in a couple of the kart races, but for the first time out this year, I didn't really need a whole lot more riding time.

The best news out of the weekend is that going forward this year, they will do one practice day a month for bikes on a Saturday (still sharing time with karts). Better yet, next year, there will be 2 dedicated Bike Only weekends at the facility! Big thanks to the NWGP guys for making this happen!
