PS3 Repair Referral?

Can anyone out there recommend a person who repairs PS3s in the area?

Here is the lowdown for those interested:

40GB Fat, CECHG01

Won't read discs. Disc would insert normally, but then nothing else happened. When ejected, disc came out in the same orientation that it went in.

Took apart and started investigating.

Upon disc insertion, laser would beam RED 3 times and try to read (focus in z-plane), and then would give up. Disc would not rotate at all. Bought a new KES400A laser, and now it beams BLUE 3 times and tries to read, and then gives up. At least it beams BLUE for BLURAY.

I applied 3.3V to two of the spindle stepper motor leads and it rotated just as it should.

Since the laser didn't fix it and the stepper motor works, I'm assuming it is the stepper motor controller that is not functioning. This is a soldered on IC and is way beyond my ability to fix, but someone with a dedicated setup shouldn't have trouble with it.

TLDR:

Anyone have a recommendation for a PS3 repair person in the Chicago area?

I got a guy on the north side with excellent reviews. I'm sending him mine when I get a free afternoon.

I have a guy who will buy it if you're interested in selling and buying a new one. Not sure what he offers, but probably not much.
