How is the camera? Can you rotate the camera using the analog stick like you can with Splinter Cell?

I wasted $50 on MGS3 and the game was nearly unplayable because you couldn't redirect the camera. You'd think you were hiding in grass but your toe was sticking out and the bad guys would nab ya.

Then a year later they came out with MGS3 Substance which added the camera feature but I'd already dropped coin on the game.

To me MGS2 was fun but other games do it better. Besides, the plot is wacked. Splinter Cell has way better gameplay and story. Just no big bosses/mechs.

Not bad, my buddy bought the Special Edition MGS PS3 and he brought the game over to my house. I didn't really play the other MGS games, but I might play this one. I think I'm third in line.

That's ambitous! I can't sit still for that long. I guess I'm the sort of person they refer to in the 1st page of the liner notes where it tells you to take breaks every hour.

Everything I've heard is positive but some people are put off by the length of the cut scenes. I'm OK with it. Its not like the other MGS' didn't have them.

COD is a heavy multiplayer game.

MGS is an intense single player. I will try out the multiplayer tonight.

Don't know if you saw it in the Sunday ads but it's $59 at Circuit City this week and they toss in a $10 gift card.

That's how I picked up GTA4. Of course you can't use the card to buy Metal Gear. It's a next purchase sorta thing. But hey Little Big Planet is coming out soon.

I got it as well just last week. I love it. I was getting bored with Grand Theft Auto 4. Thank God I shelved it for later and started playing MGS4.

All I can say is fun. The gameplay is much improved. The controls a bit more complicated than an standard shooter and took me a few deaths to master but I like them.

My complaints:

1. When panning around (particularly while hiding or leaning against a wall to avoid detection) the camera snaps to immediately behind your head which makes it difficult to pan around and look for those guards.

2. Difficulty can only be set during the initial setup. If the game gets too easy or too hard I haven't figured out how to adjust the difficulty.

Question: If I need to skip a cut scene because something comes up, can I play it again using some sort of menu? I think I saw something stating that but I was distracted by a phone call and couldn't read it. Of course I missed some details about the mission. Nothing that causes the game to become unplayable but I'd like to see the story line again.
