It was downloadable on July 1 after 10pm but I logged in on the 2nd at 9pm and it wasn't available. What gives?

Update: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/...e-v240-status/

Firmware v2.40 status
+ Posted by Patrick Seybold // Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media

As has been reported on many gaming blogs and websites, we have temporarily taken Firmware v2.40 offline. We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up.

We’ll provide further information as necessary here on the Blog.

Yeah, some people are reporting problems, but from what I've read most people are having no issues with it.

I'm a little glad they are working on it, but I'd like to see it go out for the long weekend but all we can do is wait and see.

I agree, I would rather wait and get a working version rather than a rushed product thats going to fail.

I know what I'm doing when I get home. If only I hadn't turned off Remote Play when GTA4 came out.

Yeah, they have to issue updates and some companies might not even do it. the hope is that they are going to be in Resistance 2. I know for sure they are in warhawk if you update, and they will be in little big planet when it's released
