Sportbike Track Girl Announces All-Female Track Day "Ladies First" Friday 7.1.11

Sportbike Track Girl Announces All-Female
Track Day, “Ladies First”
July 1, 2011

New Female Division of Sportbike Track Time Offers Full Assistance and Independence Programs for Women on the Track

April 28, 2011, Holland, MI --It was announced today that Sportbike Track Girl will be hosting "Ladies First", an all-female track day, Friday, July 1, 2011, at Grattan Raceway in Belding, Michigan. Sportbike Track Girl members will receive a special discounted day rate of $105. Sportbike Track Girl (www.sportbiketrackgirl.com) is a women’s track day organization that focuses specifically on empowerment; through on-track instruction, education, access to women-specific gear and discounted products and services.

The "Ladies First" day will follow a traditional LED format, with 2 groups and extended track sessions of 30 minutes. Riders will choose their group based on track experience and skill level. Riders that are new to the track (novice level) or have limited intermediate track experience can participate in the "Sport" group. Riders that are comfortable with high-speed cornering, braking and passing (fast intermediate or advanced riders) can participate in the "SuperSport" group. Classroom instruction will be provided for the "Sport" group, with "SuperSport" participation encouraged. Spots are limited so as to ensure a low coach-to-student ratio. Tire and suspension services, photography and multiple vendors will be on site throughout the event. Riders will have the opportunity to win gift certificates, women-specific gear and other free prizes throughout the day.

ST Girl programs such as “TAP” (track assistance program), enable women to do track days more easily, without having to rely on others to attend. ST Girl customers will have technical, mechanical and logistical assistance so that they can attend track days independently. Because women’s gear can be expensive and difficult to find, ST Girl offers free leathers rental and “buy/sell/trade” forums.

“Our intent is not to segregate, but rather to incorporate women into a male-dominated sport. By calming the fears of new riders and catering to their needs, we hope to significantly increase the confidence of the female rider. We ensure that she receives the moral, technical and mental foundation to succeed--however she defines "success”, said Christi Midlam, Director of Sportbike Track Girl.

“Ladies First” will be followed by regular track days on Saturday and Sunday, open to all riders. The unique format of the event will enable Sportbike Track Time’s male customers to peruse vendors, have suspension and tire service completed on Friday, and yet still ride a normal track weekend Saturday and Sunday.

Limited Vendor Sponsorships are still available. Inquiries should be made to:
Christi Midlam, Director, at [email protected].

Sign up for "Ladies First" today: http://www.sportbiketracktime.com/Ju...k-Time-Events/

*Reservations for leathers rental must be made before June 24, 2011. ST Girl does not guarantee fit, nor availability.

Dude, you're a great rider. You being careful was not even a thought. however, you offering "unique" gearing was certainly something I couldn't resist.

Odds are the sponsor will remain the weekend and you'll get the chance to take it for a spin. Don't quote me on it I am just taking a guess

Hesitating. I kinda just heard about this in the last couple of days. If I can't get time off scheduled for that day, and have to "be sick," I will lose holiday pay for July 4th.

I would LOVE for this to be my first track experience, just wish it wasn't so far away! Be much easier to work out travel arrangements closer to home, like Blackhawk Farms.

As it stands, I don't have transport for the bike. Probably a miss this time. Not enough time to work out the details. To go alone, I would have to get a hitch installed on my car first.

Look at all of these sponsors!!!

The generous sponsors for "Ladies First" have committed to a long list of donations totaling nearly $5000.00. “Our sponsors have been fantastic! They truly believe in our mission to promote women in this sport, and see the benefits of exposing their brands to this unique and valuable audience. In a male-dominated sport, our sponsors are true visionaries…they recognize the enormous financial potential of the female market”, said Christi Midlam, Director of Sportbike Track Girl. Sportbike Track Time is donating a free track day and also a free spot to its exclusive “Pro School”. All items will be raffled to participants present for the event, male or female.

Some of the most notable donations include one enrollment to Jason DiSalvo’s Speed Academy, worth $895. “Jason DiSalvo was one of our most progressive sponsors. He immediately recognized the tremendous marketing potential of a partnership with ST Girl, and stepped up early to be a part of our unique event” said Richard Harris, Owner of Sportbike Track Girl/Sportbike Track Time. In addition, Rich Oliver has donated two spots to “Rich Oliver’s Mystery School” in which students ride flat track on 125’s to learn sliding and braking drills, with an estimated value of nearly $1,200.00

Fox Powersports of Michigan has committed to raffling gift certificates valued at $800. 00.
Sportbike Track Gear (sportbiketrackgear.com) will also be a major contributor with over $300 worth of raffle prizes.

“Our intent is not to segregate, but rather to incorporate women into a male-dominated sport. ‘Ladie’s First’ offers women the opportunity to ride the track without the fears, insecurities and possible barriers they might normally find intimidating during a normal track day. Our sponsors this year are proving their dedication to this fantastic demographic and by contributing to ‘Ladies First’, they are outwardly supporting these progressive women”, said Christi Midlam, Director of Sportbike Track Girl.
