Sportbike pocket time!!

Fellow pocket bike kids,

I just secured pocket bike time (open practice) at ACC events when we are present running our track days. It will be on ACC's go kart track from 1PM to 5PM with different interval times so everyone can go out and play if they want. ACC is regulating this and STT is hosting.

it's 3 sessions at 15 minute intervals for 40 bucks.

Base guidelines:
You can ride anything 50cc or under.
If it shifts you can't exceed 40 MPH if others are on course
If it shifts and nobody is on course it's open season up to 60 MPH (for safety). ACC's karts run around the 50ish mark.
Must have the proper gear
You do not have to be an STT member to participate BUT you MUST fill out waiver form.

Please add your suggestions for this is new for all involved.

And your opinion on cost (keep in mind STT isn't regulating it)? Is it fair?

40 dollars for 3x 15 min sessions? seems mostly fair, although id like it to be lower since they basically have no operating expenses for this except having the track there

whats the price if we just want to do 1 session

15 bucks per session or 3 for 40.

I am willing to bet if we get a group together for memorial day (say 4 or more) Im sure we could muscle a lower price. I don't have any clue what pocketbike time would normally be. Is there such a thing? But I have no idea what fair would even be. STT isn't making a penny. I am doing it because I think they're cool and I've been asked a couple times about doing something on the kart track.

if you can keep it under the limit I think we could get you out there. remember they are guidelines, not rules. I am open for any suggestions, but it just has to be safe and fun. i've found, through experience, more people get hurt with stuff like this than anything else and I don't want that to happen

This sounds awesome.

I might be showing up if I can get my nephews Repsol Polini up and running. $40 for 3 x 15 minute sessions isn't too bad. But I'd rather have an option of say paying $40-50 to run the whole time 1-5pm.

You could have people showing up to only run their 50cc. If they wanted to run 1-4pm it would almost cost as much as the 1:1 guys running their trackday

$45/50 to run any and all sessions between 1-5pm sounds more attractive...at least to me.

Is the new STT owner Richard on this board? Is he good with getting back to emails? Just wondering Nick since I sent something and I got no reply in 4 days.

He's usually very good about return emails, but I know he's been in the south region the last week or so. Rich doesn't get to the boards much. He tries though... Is there something I can do?

I know part of the issue with running non stop is ACC doesn't know what is going to be happening that day yet. Sometimes ACC has manufacturers come out and ask for the kart track, for example.

For us to use the kart track there is going to be a charge and I can't get around it. ACC is setting the cost. Im trying to determine if it's fair because I have no idea what it would be normally.

I think overall what you are trying to do with ACC is great. You are giving a value ad to the day. Hopefully this works out. I think running a 50cc on a kart track would be as fun if not more fan than the karts.

I'll PM you about what I was trying to reach Richard about.

What is the age limit and what gear is required? I have 2 kids (10 and 12) who would love this. Would motocross gear be acceptable or will leathers be required?

Gear will be helmet (full face), gloves, boots, elbow and knee pads , and long sleeve shirt/pants.

We are determining age restrictions now. I will get back with you on that. We weren't certain if anyone would want even be interested let alone bring the mini-me's out.

50cc = cheap fun! Heck you can buy 50cc dirtbikes for $500-1000. It can double as a pit bike and track bike if you make this happen.

Cool stuff. I like what you guys are doing with STT. Unfortunately I have no real track bike this year LOL

i hear ya. acc is setting the price a little high imo if they want a decent turnout. thats like cart track prices where they provide the ride. hate to see u go through all the effort and then in the people wont follow though. to me the price vs time is just too high. its not like they have to prep the track. allow bigger bikes or open up the time to offset the cost.

cones work well. kids even ride pocket bikes around my subdivision sometimes. nobody cares.

im not negative im just being realistic. yeah of course everyone is going to post saying fuck ya! this is so awesome! ooh im in im in! im buying a mini right now! thats what everyone always posts. and then nick is going to take the time to work it all out and then 1 person is going to actually ride.

maybe ive got it all wrong, just one opinion. interested to see what kind of turnout it gets in the end.

and yes i used to be all about track didnt i? it was getting quite gluttonous there
im not anti track its just not a priority right now.

Honestly I think sugar river charges 20 or 30 bucks but this is much closer and gas is almost $5 a gallon so I'd be in if you let me.

There is a pretty good differnce between a chinese pocket bike and a well modified 50 or an 80 but most Kart tracks are tight with lots of turns. so it keeps the speed down. I have no speedo but will try it to see if it works out..

When is the next date?

Gear......, I've been to some mini practice days and the best deal is an MX jersey over leathers. I've seen how well dirt bike gear performs sliding on asphalt, it's not great.

Actually I heard WERA was trying to hold mini races at ACC a few years ago but it fell though.

I already made a call regarding price. I think we should get a better deal. I will try.

I also agree with the "IM ALL IN" process. It's just part of coordinating anything with others. I am doing this solely for fun and if it works out all the better. If it doesn't take off or work out then no biggie. My only loss is personal time.

I figured there would be a difference in machine, but I have no idea what kind of difference. I say bring you little rocket and worse case scenario ACC says you can't ride. It's not like it takes up 1/3 of a trailer...ya know?

4 sessions would be cool if you are looking for input.

THE PRICE IS 12 PER SESSION OR 35 FOR 3 SESSIONS!!!

I will have 4 total sessions to ensure everyone gets 3 sessions.
