Cool Aug 6th @ ACC with STT (New Kid on the Block)

Hello, Fellow Riders!

I won a free track day with STT. I never really won anything in my life! Once in freshmen year @UIC I won a cheap dinky calculator, but winning a track day takes the cake. Thanks NICK for raffling a free track event to first timers!

I plan on riding early morning to Autobahn, Joliet on AUG 06 since I dont know anyone that I can tag along with. It would be awesome if I could meet other riders'. . I was wondering if I can pit with someone, and if youre kind enough to let me chill under your canopy to keep cool since I will be going solo ? I would be so grateful!
I am little nervous and excited at the same time. Im not planning to ride over my limits. I dont care about being the fastest. Because I know I have to learn a lot, apply what I attain in the classroom and with the coaches before I reach that level of confidence. I would most likely be the last guy in my group, which is fine with me (no pressure behind me).

I feel like the new kid in high school eating lunch by myself.

I did read, Sport Riding Techniques by Nick Ienatsch, Total Control by Lee Parks, A twist of the Wrist 2, and watched the DVD version a bunch of times.

I hope to meet new riders', and make new friends who have the same passion and love for the sport!

You will be shocked to see...once at the track we are one and the same. A family. Come on out... with no worries. You will find a canopy home fairly fast and before you know it...you have made a lifetime friendship. See you there!!

If you have time, come up to the director, Nick, and ask him to show you some of the CLSB people. We'll have room for you under a canopy.

If you take off your shirt, EvilTwin might offer you some brownies too

For real now... hydrate before the track event.
If you can, ask your friends to drive to the track and bring a cooler with water/gatorade and some snacks. If that's not an option, STT provides water/gatorade and like said, we'll find you a chair and a brownie.

Listen to what the instructors say and you will learn a ton and have a blast!!
Ask any questions you might have!

Make sure you have the appropriate gear too. I know you can rent a suit from Nick, but you also need to have Gauntlet gloves, undamaged helmet, and over the ankle boots.

Good luck and see you at ACC.

Sup SG, mmmmm brownies! Awesome, Since I'm just riding their by myself, I can chip in for gatorade, food, and snacks!

I do have all the leathers, gauntlet gloves, and gear ready! I'll bring a backpack with: painters tape (don't want to get pull over with the lens covered), and other misc items. Can't wait to meet the track FAMILY! Being in IRAQ with 130+degrees, no cold water, under supply, no ac, (no homemade brownies), etc sucks! I won't take up to much room in the canopy.

Just a suggestion...
It is always in your best interest to tow your bike down.
STT has a forum www.sttforum.com, there you will find a "ride share" area.
You might find someone here (on CLSB) to ride share with, as well.

Riding your bike to the track is hard.
You can't carry fuel... and yes, you will burn more fuel then you think.
Plus you will need to hydrate... On warm days, I am drinking a gallon of water every 2-3 hours.

If you can't find a ride, there is always people that will help out...
I just feel being properly prepared is essential.

We look forward to meeting you,
-X

Thanks X, I been checking the sttforum, but haven't seen any posting on ACC Aug 6th. That would be awesome to just save my energy for the track, and I don't mind chipping in for gas and food.

***IF I CAN TAG ALONG WITH ANYONE ON AUG 6TH TO ACC, CAN YOU SEND ME A PM? Thank you in advance!***

Hi Shelly, Lolz. how much brownies do I get if I go shirtless?
I know what you mean about quality gear and stuff getting expensive (safety first). But I LOVE riding and have the passion to learn, and ride with people who have the same mentality. I hope to see you their.

STT rocks and congrats!

Definitely see if you can catch a trailer ride for you and the bike for the day. Worst case scenario you can rent a van and cargo strap that bike inside. Maybe even post up in this thread the general area you live in to see if anyone is passing that way.

He's telling the TRUTH!

Good to meet you Saturday! (I had the trailer that was parked next to you. I can get two bikes in there as well!) Thanks for the help in loading up. Hope to see you out again for more track time!

Nice to meet you too Beac! Yes, I'm addicted! I can't make it to labor day week, but I plan on doing Sept.24 @ ACC.

I'm waiting on some pics (hopefully I will get it before Sept) of my track sessions. Will post a review on my first track day, and the cool peeps that I met.
