Sweet. I like the south track. I was on the north track a few weeks ago and it was looking a little beat up in some sections too.

Good news for sure. The shaved sections were better last year but not ideal.

So basically they repaved the whole track??? Also how long are they letting the pavement cure before they let cars on it so they won't tear it up as quick as they layed it down. Glad they are doing something about it.

Should be "done" by this weekend or will be "cured" by this weekend? The problem was the first time they paved the track they did not allow enough time for the surface to cure and it is suspected that is what caused all the grooves and uneven surfaces.
In fact, you remember last year at Blackhawk when they resurfaced certain areas? I know it was 90+ degrees but same thing can happen. Be cautious first couple of times out - just in case.

Thats great news!!! Except for a couple of bumpy corners I love the South track. If they are now fixed I will be loving it that much more. Looks like a great weekend ahead.

I've done a ton of paving in my time (airport runways, interstates, bridges, etc) Just looking at that track i can tell they built it as cheaply as possible. I'd really like to see a section view of the paving plan of that track. Or a core sample.

They can do all the band-aid surface repair they want, but it still wont last.
Both tracks need to be demo'ed and replaced entirely.

We have done several car events and in a car you can't feel the bumps. It's pretty crazy the difference between track "feel" four wheels vs two.

Well seeing that they had the Lexus test ride on the track day last weekend I am guessing they let it cure for about 20 min before they let anyone one it. Should be falling apart like MAM did when they first opened up. I remeber the last corner at Mam was falling apart in pieces. It was pretty dangerous.

Ok Steve... Let's go ahead and let everyone know how you got banned:

A) At an STT event.......Letting an unregistered rider take your bike out at GingerMan and getting caught... HUGE rule violation and one which had I shared with GingerMan management would have gotten you banned from the track.. They and we have a zero tolerance policy for this type of thing and your doing it displayed a total disregard for our rules (or ANY orgs rules).

B) Same day.... getting caught in the I session (you're an A rider and you snuck out) and then when Michelle, the grid marshall black flagged you, you ignored her for several laps and then rather than stop on the grid, you nearly ran here over and went straight to your trailer to hide like a little child..

You kinda forgot the part about the full refund and cash (out of my pocket) I gave you at Barber for gas money and hotel expenses after you were banned for your deeds... Funny how I asked my staff how we should handle your rule breaking and the vote was 18 to 1 to send you packing. I was actually the only one that wanted to give you another chance..

I love competition.. We comp several NESBA CR's at several events and I can trust them to come and ride and enjoy a professional courtesy and act professionally. As far as allowing competitors (your one friend we "blackballed") to come knowing he will certainly solicit our customers... we prefer not to do that so we politely suggested he choose another event.

Monte
