POST: RA 8 July 08

Beautiful day at RA!

I had never done RA before til today and WOW, that is one FAST track! I ran with group 1 in their Novice section and started the day out learning the track. By the afternoon my coach tried to help bump me up to I (they were sold out) but I couldnt pass tech (anyone know where to get engine ice? ) Worked out in my favor though because all but 1 other guy in my group dropped down/out and we got to run free with the coach for the last 2 sessions

Here's the amazing part though, esp for those that did the A2A day at ACC.. The entire day there were only 2 crashes and they were both in advance. No Yellow flags, no lost sessions (they bumped up lunch to clean off the track so we didnt miss any time, smart move ), the ambulance service was fast, etc, etc... I cannot say enough how amazing the STT organization is

PS: Props to my umbrella girl! This was my first trackday without other boardmembers so I was a little concerned how I would handle loading and unloading etc.. but she came through like a champ! Thanks Kel

Engine ice? As an additive for distilled water in your radiator, I assume. Most automotive stores like Auto Zone carry it.

Glad you had a good time!

engine ice is a complete replacement for the coolant, and isnt supposed to be mixed.. We sell it at the dealer i work at, so i'd assume it's available at most dealers.

its legal for most orgs, other than NESBA

Engine Ice is a Propylene Glycol based coolant. Approved by CCS, STT, among others. (its not ethylene glycol)

It comes in a big bottle premixed with de-ionized water. It is not used as an additive.

BTW, glad you had fun. STT is a great org to ride with and RA is such a fun track. Definitely one of my favorites.

Does Engine Ice run cooler than something like water wetter?

Well, if you don't get Engine Ice, I have some water wetter. Should be a quick fix.

How 'bout just regular old H2O?
That's what I use.
Just have to put coolant back in it before winter then flush the coolant out in spring.

glad to hear you had fun at RA.

yes, STT is awesome and you can learn so much. infact N1 and N2 are mostly running intermediate pace, plus you get the instruction with it!

i'm already having withdrawals here......

Do you happen to know who the track photographer was for that day?
