Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is awesome!!! (PC)

Well, it's gonna be awesome once the new components that i ordered arrive... I played yesterday for about two hours and although different than BF2, this game has all the potential to RAWK!!!

Here is a first impression from one of my friends and some screenshots

I was very skeptical about this game from playing the beta, but now it's the most impressed I have ever been playing a game. Words just can't describe how amazing this game is. The squad play in conquest mode feels right at home as it did in BF2. The squads I played in stuck tight together and moved as a team!

I never dropped below 30 fps on a full server and the game ran almost flawless other than occasional lag spike. I'm running a slightly outdated PC so basically if you can run BF2 and CoD4 on High you will have no problems running this masterpiece on medium.

And that's not all! The single player in this game is just flat out incredible. I was laughing so hard at how bad ass it was.

This is a BF2 killer so jump on the band wagon because if you don't... you will be left in the dust!

Goodbye BF2!

I give this game a solid 9.5/10

BF2 was my favorite game of all. BC2 definitely has the potential to replace it. a few things are different, but after only 2 hours it's hard to say that i love it or not.

no more commanders. 32 player maps. 4 man squads. the mini map is different. no info browsing while dead. etc. you can though spawn on anyone in the squad. you have to unlock gadgets, such as medic pack. etc. but the game looks amazing!!

i played last nite a bit more. it's really hard with core 2 and my hardware didn't come yet.

there is a page with some tweaks, and manually increasing the process priority helped a lot, but still, this game wants some newer hardware.

of course, the stuff i ordered will be here on monday, after the weekend. grrrrrrrr.

another thing that people were asking, where is this, where is that, and the answer is, this is BC2, a sequel to BC. it's not a battlefield3. BF3 will come out. i hope sooner than later!!

done some research and it looks like this is what i'm looking for. i7 920 and 930 are priced the same, but the MBs are more expensive and it looks like the triple channel memory is a one off. they'll go back to dual channel.

My 9800GT is just a year old, so that'll have to do it for now.

never thought i'd be looking forward to a monday so much

Should of just stuck with the 920 and triple channel memory. Its such an improvement over ddr2 dual channel its not even funny. Also the 920 can OC easily to 4.0 without breaking a sweat so you get that much more performance. As you OC the cpu, it also does the memory by itself and of course your video will get some increase as well on gpu intense games. What exactly is the 860? I know about the 920 series and I remember the i5's came out but never stayed up to date with anything after that.

i kept reading, 'don't get the 920'

there must be something not good with triple, since they're going away from it.

since it's priced the same, i had to go and read and research, and everything said, get the 860.

i also read things like, if you enable usb 3.0 on the mb, it splits your video bus in half (!!!)

this was the best for the buck.

some of the things i kept seeing

"The second generation i7 860 is the way for price performance.People keep talking about the x8 lane's.The truth is if you have a 22 inch 1680 x 1050 or smaller you will see no difference in sli.The i7 860 overclock's just fine many people hitting 4.5Ghz.There is nothing wrong with the 920 either.Unless your a bench whore you won't be able to tell the difference, they are so close.Ever review I have seen has the 860 on top most of the time and particularly in game's regarding FPS.The i7 860 also has the memory controller and the PCI express controller right on the chip, which mean's there is no more north bridge simplifying the platform."

I got my 920 at 4.2ghz stable at intel voltage. With my single 4890 I can max out any game with my 24" widescreen without a single studder or missed step. 920 is still the most popular chip to buy simply because there cheap and they can overclock like crazy. I do go for benchmarks personally. Im more of a hands on lets see what it actually does person. With my 920 I can fully re encode a 2 hour movie to ntsc in just over 10 minutes. Thats full cpu processing to do the work. Do you have any plans to OC your chip?

no, actually i don't.

except for BF2 and BC2 i don't play any fps on PC.
the E6600 w 4 gigs or ram that i had since nov of 06 did the job just fine until now. hell, i still refer to it as my new computer

never thought of video encoding, haven't done it in a long long time, but that's awesome that it doesn't take hours any longer.

if i was more of a full time gamer, i would have gone with the more serious setup and a non p55 board to do the SLI, but i know i'll never spend hundreds on two video cards. i need tires and bike parts

when you start OCing, you need a better cooling and all kinds of stuff. i have too many expensive hobbies, so i have to keep it to a humane level.
well, how humane is that i spend $520 on the three components... other people buy a whole rig for $500

I got it on pc and I think it was just good to be playing a BF game again. got it and I love it. It also appears that you keep all the dog tags you got during the demo. Because I have over 100 already when I 1st started. Its more serious, more realistic and more entertaining, The graphics are excellent, the maps are brilliant, I like EA games' ethic and I have been a fan of Battlefield 1943.

Would you say it's better than mw2? I'm getting a little bored with it and thought I'd grab some new to mess around with.
