Analyst: Activision To “Essentially” Close Infinity Ward / Call of Duty: Vietnam

Two big CoD news stories hit yesterday and today: (sorry, I don't have permission to post clickable links yet, maybe a mod can edit them for me):

1) Analyst: Activision To “Essentially” Close Infinity Ward

2) Report - Call of Duty: Vietnam Confirmed

If you're not familiar with the back story, the creative team that started the Medal of Honor franchise left EA to form Infinity Ward, which created the now billion $ CoD/MW franchise at Activision.

CoD was so successful that Activision decided to release a new version of it every year, but they had to outsource every other release to a 2nd development studio, Treyarch. Ever wonder why there were no Nazi Zombies in MW2? Infinity Ward refused to work with, or even talk to Treyarch.
In fact, Treyarch didn't know about IW's switch to Modern Warfare until MW1 was about to be released!

After Activision recently fired the president and CEO / co-founder of IW, they left to start a new company at... EA! Oh, and they are bringing most of the IW team with them :

Soooooo... CoD will continue on without IW, but we have new IP from "Respawn Entertainment" to look forward to.
