WoW MoP

The Beta is just around the corner. I think less than a month. While D3 is probably what I am going to be taking up most of my time, I think MoP is going to be excellent. Btw, all of you quitters out there, Blizzard is running a promotion with free upgrade to Cata, free lvl 80, free realm transfer to anyone that comes back... the person resurrecting them does get a sweet mount as well, lol. PM me with your battlenet (or char and server and I will rez ya.)

I could always be the tree, they took it away as a form when I left.

Second question.... why would anyone want to be a panda?

I don't know. It has been the most requested race every year at Blizzcon. I am making one, want to see what monk is like. Beating the crap out of things and healing sounds fun... I though disc changes were going to do that, but smite healing is rather boring.

Nope, they have buffed them... they are the bosses that we all kill now

Right now it is pretty even, I think Cata is the more balanced PvP wise... except for mages, they suck... and so do rogues.

I'll be playing MoP, since I bought the annual pass. Panderan's have been the most requested race since back in the WC2/WC3 days. So it's not surprising to see them finally come to life. All kung-fu panda jokes aside, I'm looking forward to it.

The thing I am most curious about is the notion of no "End Boss" for the xpac that was mentioned back in Blizzcon.

But, they either need to remove the 10char/server limit or put in cross server mailing. LFD/LFR + Real ID has solved a great deal of the cross realm issues with friends, but it sucks to have all your heirlooms locked on a server they can't be used. So I hope they change that.

Next monday lifts the NDA on the press tour that is going on now. A lot of new information should be coming out of that. I'm going to be glued to MMO next week for sure.

Ciao,
Lupi

Shit, I'm so glad I walked away from WoW. I'm surprised Brianne stayed with me the year I played up to 80. Or was it 60...I'm not sure they had 80 levels when I last played.

Just get your wife to play :P Like everything in life it is about balance and the game has changed so much that you don't have to grind like you used to to stay competitive... even less if you just want to kill stuff with your friends. I think most PvPers play once a week now just to cap points. Granted, if you want more stuff to do, there is plenty.

I like the whole no "End Boss" notion. Who knows, maybe what will happen is that the faction leaders might be the end bosses for this expansion... I would love to kill Garrosh.

I think they finally figured that most people like to figure something out once and then be done with it. The next expansion does away with the "tree" idea as something you get locked into.

Many people left when they had to relearn their character. I hated healing for a while, but eventually gear and style of play fixed it all again. I hope they never mess with healing again, it was dumb and they paid for it with subscribers for sure.

I only hated the healing changes because of the paradime shift at the beginning of Cata.

Almost every stat took huge jumps except HPS. Heals healed the same amount of HP, but filled less of the HP bar and cost more mana. That, and people refused to CC, and move out of shit on the ground. That made healing a sever PITA.

But, the challenge was what I loved about it too.

And it STILL didn't take that long to out gear the content. By the time you were full 359 you didn't need to CC jack.

I hated hitting 83 on any character, all my HPS numbers went to crap at that point... spells just got to expensive. I figured it out on the priest pretty fast... the druid they kept changing and I did not play often enough. I did ok with the changes, a lot of people gave up healing or playing. Same thing with some DPS classes that they changed a lot.

I never once heard a DPS bitch unless the healer didn't "keep me alive!" of the "tank doesn't know how to hold threat."

Heals bitched, and bitched a lot. I lost count of how many toons I had to gear running people as the tank, so they could do their "main" and 4 healing alts because they didn't like any of them. Yet I try and play anything other than the tank toon and got, "He's in it for himself." BS!

You either roll with teh punches and make adjustments or you quit. I chose to roll with it. The only other option is to go and live on the PTR.

DK-Drud-War all tanks, Drud is off heals and priest is Disc/Holy just recently tried to do shadow. Those are the toons I play, so as a tank I never really worried about que or bitching all that much. When Cata started a lot of class changes + people going into dungeons without the ICC buff made them feel weak (or broken). Some people find figuring out what works part of the game, some see it as OMG BRO, I got nerfed... so yea, I played with tons of casuals and a lot of them just up and quit because they were not ROFLSTOMPING stuff.

Definately, I quit before Cataclysm just after that last last patch blew away my Shadow and Holy trees. I would have had to relearn and rebuild everything all over again and I wasn't about ready to. Plus I got tired of the fact that Disc Priest out healed me on the regular. They where supposed to be damage mitigation not single target healers.

That combined with the fact that my two other major toons where melee dps (DK and a Rogue) that had a wash rinse repeat attack cycle I just got fed up.

I've checked the release notes and I just don't think Blizzard can undo the damage they did when they mitigated all the work I had put in my main again and again and again.

See, TLSkip is a perfect example. He sees the build of a talent tree as work that he should not do again. I know a hunter that redoes his spec sometime from boss to boss. Some people enjoy that, some people just want to get to a point and have fun from then on.

I am somewhere in the middle, I don't mind a respec every patch but I get annoyed if I have to do it every week.

I'm glad I didn't start playing until last year, and haven't had to go through those frustrations, although I'm bummed I missed the evolution of the game, everyone tells me that it was a PITA before you could fly everywhere.

I'm looking forward to the kung-fu pandas. Still only on lvl 80 with my first toon, but I'm hoping to eventually try out every race and class. Oh yeah, and even after five months of playing, most of what you guys are talking about is all gibberish to me. LOL.

One of the things that they are going to try with MoP is to bring the old style questing back. You won't be able to fly in the new areas until you reach level cap.

The cool thing about the game is that you can enjoy so many facets of it. Take your time, enjoy what you are doing and if there are other things that start peeking your interest there are tons of info out there.

I left when they put in the cata talent changes. It completely rubbed me the wrong way and honestly I think it did with a lot of players that had be around a long time.

A hunter was my main for a long time, then a resto druid but played just about every class before I left. I would respec every patch because that's what I had to do to raid, it's the nature of the beast.

So I just went and checked out the release notes for MoP, they leave me with a huge feeling of NOPE. It looks like they are getting out of the original story canon that kept that game alive, maybe this will finally kill WoW and Blizzard will get Diablo III out.

Yep, the sheer size and depth of content there is really amazing to me.

I do understand the frustrations of those who are annoyed with the whole idea of MoP. I've been reading some of the lore and history of WoW and I don't get how they fit really, moreso than the space goats which I've heard have had their detractors (although that's what my main toon is) as well.

Go play WC2 and WC3. Panda's have been lore since before Arthas, though I'm by no means a lore junky.

I've been playing since vanilla and for the most part, am completely OK with the changes blizzard has made through the years. This is now SWG: Combat revamp and NGE after all.

The only thing I don't like is the homoginization (sp) of classes. I truely liked the days of, "pally = AE tank, warrior - single target tank" and "druid = AE heals while Disc = single target" healer. Everyone had a role and their roles were a little different. Even for DPS.

I am happy that I don't have to constantly respec if I want to tank or heal and it's no gold sink. Having two specs, and free swapping was a godsend. I do agree that flying/porting everywhere is cool I kind of liked traveling to places manually.
