Wii is great but it is nit for the intense gamer, it is for the casual user and such.

I don't use my consoles to play online, so I don't care what everyone else has. XBox' inevitable Rings of Death completes the turn-off.

I'm still rocking the slim PS2 though. I wish the newest PS3s were backward compatible.

I'll admit I've never touched a single system in question though. My money is going on a PS3 regardless. Someday anyway.

We bought a PS3 for the Blu-Ray, and Brianne is partial to the PS3 games and quality of video and sound.

XBOX 360 seems to have more of the gamer games, and a better online community.

PS3 has not yet been solidly hacked for game cloning, though 360 has.

WII is more of a party gaming system.

We have a PS3, but I'm hoping for an XBOX for X-mas...it's just...it seems so late in it's lifespan, I'm sorta waiting/wondering what the next gen is like and when it will come out.

Who's this for Tom?

-If it's you and you want to play some online racing sim or headshot an admin....Xbox no contest. There is a reason it's so poplular here and around the world. Online access cost is a couple bucks a month. Well worth it for the demos and free content alone. The xbox runs hot and is prone to fail, but it's worth the hassle. Get an extended warranty. If you have a Netflix subscription, the Xbox will stream that content for free.

-Wii is great for partys, family fun, and even one-on-one. It gets you off the couch but it seems to be very repetitive and linear (at least the games I played). The novelty wore off after a week and I sold it.

-Never tried the PS3 despite the superior on paper specs. Online access is free (you get what you pay for) and the games are supposedly great. It has the bonus of also doing a good job as a Blu-Ray player and just recently allowing Netflix to be streamed.

if you play alone, dont have a bd player already, ps3. if you want to play online, and dont care about bd then xbox 360. forza2 smokes GT and forza3 is now out an even better. if you're into car sims its the only way to fly. I'm on my second xbox sadly but don't regret it.

I have an original backwards compatible PS3 but I only played PS2 games when I first got it. I have not played one since 2006. You can really notice the inferior graphics of PS2 games on a PS3/HDTV.

PS3 works great and it is very much my media center. I use it to play games (99% of the time online, PS3 online community is there), play BR movies, and stream video to it from networked storage. I pull down eurosport feeds in HD and have HD races on my flatscreen, eat it Speed TV.

A lot of people it comes down to the exclusives. aka games only available on one console or another.

PS3 and Wii.

Wii can play backups and is fun for all demographics... PS3 for blu-ray and low hardware failure rate unlike the 40% hardware failure for XBOX360. Almost forgot... PS3 has free online play as well.

Ps3,

Free online community, Free wifi built in to connect to your wireless router, 360 is an extra 100$ to get wifi in it.

Blu ray for games is mroe important than movies. the biggest game xbox can fit on a disk is 8.5 gigs. Uncharted2 that came out for PS3 that won all those awards is a 50gb game, that means more game play, more variables, better graphics and a longer game.

More, better exclusives are now coming to the PS3 over the 360, the last count was 3 good exclusives for the xbox and 10 for the Ps3

If I were buying a gaming system now, I'd get a PS3 for the reasons mentioned above. I'll buy one eventually.

I have an 360 now, and the only reason I got it was because it could play netflix (which PS3 can do as of this week) and because I was able to trade some AR/1911 shit I didn't need anymore for it.

The Wii is pretty cool. The wife really likes playing MarioKart together and some of the sports games are a lot of fun too. I want to get Punch-Out in the next few days. That looks like a blast from the past. I loved the original.

There is good reason the Xbox is still winning in the polls despite its inferior hardware.

Like just last night's impromptu Forza 3 racing....good times.

zomg fan boy

I have both I play the 360 way more. Better controller better button mapping, better exclusives (more exclusives doesn't make them better).

that and 360 stands by it's failures. got a red ring? no problem I had mine back in 5 days. my brother in law got the infamous ps3 yellow flashing light cost 119 to get fixed and sony refused to cover it. it's just as prominant as the red ring just not as well known because 360 has more market coverage.

sorry had to balance the fan boy out there. That said both systems are awesome in their own respect. It really depends what type of gamer you are.

That's great that you got your system back within 5 days.. but I'd rather have a system that fails very rarely... not a 50/50 chance. Whether or not XBOX has more market share doesn't change the fact that an above average of hardware failures are present.

I do like the XBOX controller better though... and I enjoy Gears of War a lot.

I don't why Sony didn't wise up and put the left analog jostick where the d-pad is... it's so annoying.

that and the control sticks should be concave not convex. nothing worse then having to adjust a sliding thumb on a boss fight.

the ps3 failure rate is quite a bit higher then you realize. the yellow flashing lot is a common occurance and usually requires motherboard replacement from fan failure.

higher than I expect still doesn't make it high right?

If I had to buy today it would be an XBOX but only because I already have a PS3 and a Wii.

I don't like the idea of paying for xbox live but then again I did pay for WoW for quite a while. And I only know a few people with an xbox and they don't play enough for me to even warrant paying a monthly fee to see if they are even online playing.

I for one don't like the xbox controller compared to the PS, probably just because I'm way more used to it but I've always found it to work for me.

Lord, beer me strength

pretty high of my psn friends it's around 50% have either replaced or repaired the one issue. that's 10 to 12 people with it. not the most accurate sampling but it's all I got.
