Honda Metro will not charge battery

Could you guys help me out here? I have a honda metropolatin 1 a 2005 and it has a new battery it. It will not charge the battery. I do not have a service manual so does anyone know where the rectifier is or how I trouble shoot this?

simple stuff like checking the battery, fuses, connections have been done. if I put the battery on the battery tender, it fully charges and the scooter runs for a few days, but it will not charge the battery. It seems like the charging circuit is not producing enough of a charge because the battery will barely light the headlight, but the scooter will still run if I kick start it.

If you kick start the scooter and it still runs, most likely the charging system is fine. If you have a multimeter, you can check. Start the scooter (kick start or w/e) and check the voltage across the battery terminal. It should be around 13V-14V. If you see this voltage then the charging system is charging the battery.
