I noticed a higher "need" for scooters due to gas prices...

Lately, driving around my Honda CB125 (which people consider a scooter due to it's size), I've been asked questions on MPG. Many people seem to want to buy a scooter due to the gas prices rising. If more people buy scooters, they might upgrade to bigger/better bikes. On the street I noticed much more scooters than last year or the last few years in fact. Of course this is a good and a bad thing.

The bigger companies will start to be more competitive in the market while we will have more idiots on two wheels. I don't know, what do you guys think? Would the price per gallon really influence the amount of scooter riders?

In vietnam the main way of travel is on scooters, is quite rediculous how many scooters are on the road, i think in 1 day subtracting the taxis i see maybe 10 cars, and thousands of scooters, its quite crazy, but if you think about it, it works, its gas efficient, and easy to get around. also in Korea a lot of people travel with scooters over cars, although there are still a lot of cars out there. the scooters and cars out here in asia have like a unspoken agreement, the drivers are always on a lookout for scooters out here...

but like you said there will be more idiots on two wheels, but in the end, it helps make all the drivers out there more aware of people on two wheels, and that IMHO is a good thing.

I have seen alot more use of scooters as well and figure it's due to the fawkin gas prices.

There will always be idiots in everything we do

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

Operating a motorcycle. So easy, even a caveman can do it. Knowing how to ride? Priceless.
