1984 Aero 125 - Anywhere to buy parts??

My parents bought this new in '84 and it's been a trooper. Recently locked up and they think it needs a new piston.

Issue is that apparently this was the only year it was sold in the states, and none of the usual suspects seem to be able to get their hands on replacement parts.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Not sure what condition the parts are in now - reconditioning them might be the only option?

Would still be nice to have a parts source going forward as this stuff can't last forever.

Thanks in advance!

saw one of these listed as for sale on craigslist yesterday. You selling it or interested in buying another for parts?

Saw one up in MI recently as well that was supposedly running. Thought about it as a parts bike. Since then we found out that you can use CR125 parts in most cases - which are MUCH easier to find.

So it's back in production.

Thanks tho!

Honda still has a lot of parts for the Aero 125 as I've learned during the last 6 month process of reanimating a pair of 125s (one runs but needs a new belt, variator rollers and clutch work yet, the other is next to be started on) and a pair of Aero 80's, both 1983s (one runs like a champ and the other is still scattered all over my shop). In both cases it depends on what you need and how good a parts department your local dealer has. Flea-bay for other things but be sure to include Europe in your searches. They made the Lead 125 (AKA Aero 125 - NH125) from 1983 to 1987 over there. Be careful on Flea-bay however. There was a guy selling an used air box cover for a 125 for like $30 plus $8 shipping and I got a new one from Honda for $33 and NO shipping. Then there are the guys claiming NOS parts, yet those parts are still available from Honda NEW, so they are not really NOS are they.

I just acquired another Aero 125, it runs in spite of a bad bystarter and no rear body panels. But between the 3 scooters I pretty sure and can get 2 running. Actually 2 run now but one has belt, variator and clutch issues. I finally got a clutch this last week and have had a belt and rollers for sometime now. I still need to compression check the one scooter.
