Talking A WAY TO END ANY DRAMA before it starts REALLY GOOD idea for us all, PLEASE READ.

OK, we hate drama right, and non of us like to see or get into an argument right? RIGHT

So how does this mostly start then?

Heres my thoughts and I am sure all of you can agree. THIS IS A WEBSITE, of words of expressions. Sometimes these expressions don't come across the way we mean them when the subject is touchy for what someone says or implies its very common to misunderstand what people meant because we can't add a voice to our expression of dialog there for, we can only assume what that person meant by a few words.
NOW if someone says something rude, and you think its RUDE. then lets do this!

(THE ASK AGAIN POLICY)....thats right...ask that person AGAIN to please explain further, cause you want to double check what they are trying to imply, mean, or express or state. Before you act on it!

NOW ISN'T THAT A GREAT IDEA?

This way before we get pissed and start a bunch of drama ON THE SITE FORUMS. Everyone gets into it, from replying nasty to what you thought was rude. This way it can be cleared up better before acting on it and AVOID drama.

NOW if someone gets the ol'mighty flame attach (example words, fuck you, asshole, son of a bitch, etc, etc, etc. now that's! Reason for a complant..and report it to the moderators...or me and tony,so we my handle the matter if you wish not to be involved. and we will carry out the action that needs to be token. As well as they have broken a site rule!!!!

OR if its just a stupid comment and you already asked for that guy to explain what he meant further, and YEP its what ya though. Just a rude comment you didn't like. Well 2 things you can do,TAKE CARE OF IT OFF THE FORUMS AND TAKE IT INTO private messages. OR make a complaint about that post and the mods and me and Tony will look into it for you.

I REALLY THINK THIS WILL CUT DOWN OR ELIMINATE DRAMA on the site.

Sure we might not get along with everyone or not like a person for what ever reason. Just don't express or say rude shit to them on the site.

1 other thing,ALOT of us are close freinds in which we mess with each other and tease. Theres nothing wrong in that if the 2 guys are joking amoung them selfs. Which happen to be REALLY good buddys. So if anyone is doing this PLEASE ADRESS who that comment is for. So no one thinks its for someone else.

I hope we all can agree and start using this method to keep drama down.

P.S. THIS WAS JIMSGOFAST IDEA and what a great idea it is,thanks Jim for the suggestion.

This is actually how most people should behave when face-to-face conflicts arise, much less written ones!

But then you have people that once it is called to their attention that people are being offended by their style will make NO effort to correct the situation.

Some of these disagreements definately get blown out of proportion and very often get worse because we do not take the time to work them out.

Welcome to group dynamics! We're not just a bunch of strangers, we've been around long enough to form some opinions. Some of this is just normal human nature, posturing, cliqueish, alpha dog behavior. Most of it can be avoided or reduced by remembering to respect each other and taking a little time to make sure you know what was actually being said.

IF i am understanding this correctly..(example) some guy just keeps making rude comments, and that person just cant seem correct his disrespectful nature and other members it was directed to makes a complaint about it.
Then the offending member that caused the insult..will be warned to cut it out and be more productive and less rude to cause complaints...or don't post at all.
And of course..if it gets so out of hand..they will be banned.

IF i understood what you mean by that...if not please explain (but i wanted to say this anyway so everyone knows.) its all about having fun we shouldn't have to deal with bad shit when we come here to have fun..NOT argue
sure we deal with day to day problems...but dont bring new problems by starting them here on our website.

Just so that there's no confusion, Moderators should adhere to the same guidelines when posting correct? And if a moderator should break one of these "rules" is he/she then banned?

In the past week or so, it is my opinion, that moderators have not necessarily followed all of guidelines set forth when a member registers. New guidelines have been put into place. I'm just attempting to clarify not get banned or stir up trouble....

Are the "rules" of the board, new and old alike, applied to everyone or are moderators excluded? That's my question.

mod's members its all the same.

these rules have always been there since day 1...this ask again policy is new.

also too...ME PERSONALY i know its not easy being a moderator..there for we all are human and sometimes act pissy.
other then that...we deal with just about every member versus...a normal member just comming in and posting and leaving.

other then that like i said...if someone gets pissed about what someone else says...let that person deal with it...(its not anyones problem unless its you)
if they choose to complain about the thread then we take action.

if we see it first and feel its a flame..we handle it.

i think that should sum it up for everyone.

also too people get warnings before they are banned not just banned.

That being the case I'l repeat the first part of the question.

Do you have an example in mind?

Member registration is somewhat monitored by moderators but the guidelines and "enforcement" are up to the owners.

You are welcome to your opinion but this moderator can only guess what you may be referring too.

Even better way to end the drama threads. DONT RESPOND. Back on SBN I've seen people 'try' to explain themselves about a previous post only to get the flames hotter. Also using smilies does help with the meanings.

no rob...if someone explains it and its a for sure rude insult and they explained it again and its a fact now..well then its the hurt member that needs to make a complaint to the mods or me or tony..and for us to deal with it.

after all , some rude comments are actually rude.

so there for its up the hurt member to seek action threw the site over lords or to deal with it threw PM's to that person who made that rude comment.

simple and easy to understand

We could use this to settle both our internal and international differences.

Bush-Hussein at 20 paces?

Associated Press
Published October 4, 2002

BAGHDAD -- An Iraqi vice president offered an unusual suggestion Thursday for solving the U.S.-Iraq standoff: Saddam Hussein and President Bush should fight a duel to settle their differences and spare their people the ravages of war.

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan would be the referee for the duel, which should be on neutral territory, Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan told Associated Press Television Network.

Ramadan made his remarks without giving any outward sign he was joking, although reporters detected a note of irony in his voice.

Ramadan said the opponents would "use one weapon, with a president against a president, a vice president against a vice president, and a minister against a minister . . . "

"In this way we are saving the American and the Iraqi people," he said.

Iraq has two vice presidents. Ramadan did not say whether he or Taha Muhie-eldin Marouf might take on Vice President Dick Cheney.

In Washington, White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said the Iraqi offer was irresponsible and did not warrant a "serious response."

We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home.

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it.

IMO Mods are only members with a little bit of authority. As such they should be held to the same standards of conduct if not a tad higher. The good ole set an example thing.

As far as the clarification question. Not a bad idea. Me personally, if it seemed like you flamed me I just dont care. Only words here to me. I wont carry one in a battle of words on a web site. Sides I'm a regular ole smart ass and would treat others comments the same so I probably wouldn't take anything personally.

Sheesh, as I told Ken(In private), this is kinda pretty rampart. No I won't go into specifics, because I'm not going to go back and research old threads, but there have been a great deal of cases where some board members(present company included/moderators and members alike) get away with breaking/bending board policies, and others get the hammer when they B/B the policies.

Sometimes the gavel of justice doesn't seem to swing in a consistant manner.

Now of course this can be taken as a flame, but it's not, just a simple observation. Besides, I like the drama to an extent. It let's you see how people REALLY are, not how they are trying to PRESENT themselves.

It's not taken as a flame by me. However, it is kind of a vague accusation along with an admitted unwillingness on your part to state what you are talking about.

I'm not sure where the "Sheesh" is coming from, since the post you are commenting on was not directed to you and was requesting a specific reference or example of how the moderators are being unfair and/or inconsistent.

Bottom line, we are volunteers and trying to keep this a nice place to be. Sorry if we're not meeting your expectations.

Oh well, back to my regularly scheduled program of who to be unfair to next!

Dave,
Since you are pretty much asking for further clarification, I hope this helps.
Vague, yeah only because most of my thinking on this topic is not in the popular opinion, and it's pretty apparent what happens when you voice un popular opinions. I have told Ken in private a little more about my feelings with the Mod squad, and that is for he and I. He can take what I mentioned as use it and take it to heart, or he can disregard it and let it be, his choice. So, I'm vague because I have expressed those notions with whom they most directly concern. If you desire to know more, PM me.

My unwillingness, is pretty much from the fact that my opinion would just be taken as a "flame" and not as constructive criticism. Knowing this, why provoke another "Michael" at this point. When/If it comes to that point, I'll make it known.

The "sheesh" is my exasperation and frustration with the, "Do as I say, not as I do." That happens a lot.

And as far as expectations, the board will never meet my expectations, nor should it. It should cater to the masses as a group, not to specific individual(s). That is something I think the board does pretty well.

Privately is probably the appropriate forum if you have specific issues with specific people.

I'm not questioning whether the issues you are concerned about are legit. However, it's not very constuctive to make vague references to the mods being unfair publicly without being willing to lay the issues on the table publicly for discussion.

As I said to HolyKaw (gee, wonder who that is ), without specifics I am only left to guess what you may be referring to and my view of what may have been unfair may or may not be similar to yours.

The very few people I am aware of being banned need to take up the issue with the owners and resolve the problem like an adult if they care to be allowed back. Sometimes it's simply easier to play the martyr.

I would encourage everyone to raise issues of unfairness either directly with the person in question or via one of the moderators.

I voiced a variety of opinions about the board to half of the rueling party, becasue we were all ready chatting about other things.

I guess the, "Do as we say not as we do" really does some up a good part of my concerns. That or the fact that the board is very clique?(sp) and is very much a "Boys Club." Vague yeah....but the issues have been raised to the appropriate mods....sorry if they don't applie to you Dave.
