ALL MEMBERS PLEASE VOTE, help us since we did the NEW format of freedom!

we now have an issue, me and tony would like your input on how to best handle this.

since we made an open forum for all members to enjoy with the freedom of choice to say or do what ever about business and we are NOT SELLING any more advertising forums with restrictions on our members.

and also adding the benifit of our long time members that own business the freedom to post there business info and how they can help us.

(but we still dont allow those 1 post spammers) we will nuke spammers to keep the site clean for you guys and us.

we have many business respectfully contacting us now to find out how they can advertise on CLSB.

so please help us choose what you feel is best for the CLSB community and the site you love to keep it going.

thank you.

i say have them open an account and start threads about any killer deals they my be offering. If they don't have anything useful going on there really isn't a reason for them to be on right? most people know who the vendors are in the area so just having their name up isn't going to bring them any more business they have to have something to attract us there. just my

I think that having them all in one forum will be easier for us to browse the deals they are offering rather than searching around.

there is no more sponsors, there is no more advertisers, no one is making me do nothing to adhere to anything to push onto the community.

its not about if, its about keeping order in here so we dont get flooded with crap from business solicitations. you know you seen it, how many people spamming in a night 10 thread all about the same crap phones, or xboxs and so forth. stuff like that ill always delete and ban them!

i have noticed more local business some i have heard of and some not, that want to respectfully post there post, just like dano, and chicago performance, team resurrection, etc.

but now that i am getting flooded with other request from business's. thats not the point if by donations we can support. of course we can.

but its the point letting these guy pitch in to help the site do it in a beatifically manner to the community AND the sites financial needs.

and me and the staff moderate it only in making sure it stays or move it to that forum IE: the yellow pages, or what ever.

i wont sticky, i wont favor i wont do nothing. thats advertising, and then it goes back in touch with the way it was before "a business transaction with restriction"

NO thank you!

i am just gonna throw it in a forum we make for general business or yellow pages, i dont know.

Cool. Then make them either donate a small amount or maybe have over a few hundred posts to show they support the board and prove they aren't spammers before they can post. While donations are nice, I think people that are long time members (like dean, dan, Ken, etc) have earned the right to advertise what they are doing for free. After all those kind of people are usually offering us good fair deals on reputable services.

i totally agree which is why i gave that freedom to those guys since i was able to without being under policy with no one.

now on the flip side of that, i LIKE your suggestion about making them get in 100 post to make sure there a member before someone trying to pitch the shit out of us.

but really that means alot of keeping tabs on them and making sure and we the staff watch what they say, ya know

but i say screw that its more work, and more stress, and if we catch someone posting to the site new trying to out there business or someone else's to get them in here?

throw something in the change bucket buddy and stay in this forum with your solicitations, and THEN when they get around 100 post and proven themselfs...then feel free to to drop a line to a member where ever in the forums if you can help them.

so i think what you said has 2 great benefits and it all ties together.

good one man!

yup I'm a genius. If you want to cut down on the work part. how about something like this. make the forum only available if you donate a certain amount. Set up some criteria where if you meet it, you can apply for free access to the forum. Then just pick some on the board you trust, and has no intention of ever advertising (help keep down the biases) to review them and make the decisions. That person can also moderate that forum. No more work for you.

GOD FORBID!!!! if i ever get a report from anyone since the day this site was up about some business or even a member trying to solicit you to something or anything you didn't want to know about.

all you have to do is tell me or tony and we will handle it.

you file a complaint about a member, i always do the best we can to moderate

with another website or business i turn it over to the legal dept to possible sue there ass.

this site and its members have rights of privacy, i take you as a member and also your right to privacy very important!

always have always will.

The yellow pages idea is a good one.

Also can the user name shown at each post be altered for a "business" member? This would give you some indication while reading posts who your dealing with. I guess I'm asking, if there is a way to decipher a "business" reply from a personal reply.

Make it clear the ad type posts will only be allowed in the "yellow pages" forum, they still get access to everything else like a normal member the rest of the membership can use the report button to alert for out of place advertisement

not even 24 hours old and i see a MASSIVE majority seems to feel the way i do.

keep the votes going, and i will close this in a few days, and tally it. and get to talking with these business that want in, and set up a area to put them in.

REMEMBER there is no more censorship, no more directing business to no one, or saying you cant say this or that.

you guys say or do what ever you want to them. just please for your own sake. state the truth i dont want to see any of my members with a law suit on there hands. from bad mouthing some business and they wanna come after you since CLSB gets hits on average over 9 million a month now

state nothing but the facts when its bad, and use them if you want or dont, it doesnt matter to me anymore cause i dont have to in force shit!

my focus is you guys

+1

Sorry don't know how to multi quote.
I also liked the idea of the members having something in their profile to indicate they are a business. Kinda like the moderators do. So if someone is complaining about something and someone else provides an opinion you know if it is coming from a business.

Although I voted for your 1 forum option I say just let it roll. Adapt on the fly. Setting rules is just going stress you out again Ken. for the most part people are respectful and don't go around spamming the hell outta the forum. If they do and enough people start complaining the give em the boot. Everyone gets hazed so why should someone who wants to come in and post about their services be any different? total different scenario but look at JoeRider for example. People got pissed, he got the boot. Simple. If you can't get along with the folks in this community of such diverse beliefs and opinions then you don't belong here.

unrulely members, we will deal with doesnt matter if they have 1 or 100 or 100k in post.

this is more new business that are trying to get on here as they always have in the past. and making them drop something in the bucket for donation, also keeping the site clean.

which reminds me, last night at 2am some asshole over sea's spammed this shit out of the site with computer crap and got 4 post in all over the place tilll i banned him and also made fun of him

those post are floating around, i forgot to clean them up.

but there still needs to be order even with new business that want to come and pitch there stuff. its something that will never stop but we need to control.

the best solution was also picked out by the majority so far but like i said ill wait till when ever it was to tally it up and put it into effect. i and tony will ALWAYS have stress on CLSB.

how we manage it and reduce it is the more important thing.

all i know is me and him haven't been this happy in over 3 years!

glad to be back having some fun myself.
