Sexy Avatars (please read)

A few of you guys have been using pretty sexy avatars for many of us who view threads from work. We've been relying on the sexual content being in the appropriate forum(s) and appropriately labeled with a warning.

I would like to ask that you voluntarily post a less controversial avatar without having to be specifically asked.

Those of us who do not need these sexy avatars on our screens when the boss walk by will appreciate the consideration.

Also, please remember to include a warning for content not work safe.

Thanks

Dave

So your not liking the giant cock in my av? Sorry, I'll post less. NOT!

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

its not only a work issue though. there are younger people who log onto the website. some of the people on here view the site at home and have children. this website has a pretty mature/respectable base to it...and i think that is the view that the admins and mods would like to keep.
another thing, alot of the track guys have sponsers....i personally don't think that lewd avatars would give future sponsers a pleasant view of the people on here.

Yeah, I guess other alternatives are too much too! It started out as a request for voluntary restraint and consideration.

Do the mods have to debate and establish guidelines and deal with accusations of censorship?

Seriously enough, I suppose the moderators can begin discussions with the owners to elaborate rules if that's what is necessary. I think voluntary restraint is a much better option.

I suppose it's possible that some of you are either young enough or employed in "non-professional" jobs where this stuff doesn't matter but many of us who try to keep the site running smoothly have jobs where having pictures of scantily clad women on our computers could cause big problems.

My memory of this exchange was that it started with a polite request to voluntarily remove this material. I cited a reason which was subsequently argued and others cited other potential reasons which were argued.

We have tried to run this site with minimal rules and request changes where necessarily to keep this a nice place and safe for people to contribute at work if they so desire.

We do have some women members here and try to welcome more women to the sportbike world. How about if for no other reason, we consider what some of them might feel about this.

I dont think I need to make a rule here, its common scense. If you girlfriend happens to be in the pic becasue she was by your bike when you took the shot thats fine. if your girlfriend happens to be int he pic becasue she lathered up in butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar thats not fine. (send those directly to me )

but seriuosly. Avatars are meant for you to put a pic that represents your self. if you put a chick up there people think your trying to look like a chic. Hell I think everyone should put iin a pick of themselves so I can finnally figure out who the hell I'm meeting at these rides

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
