4 Wheel Track Day Organizations?

A friend of mine is asking about possibly doing a track day with his car...who the major players in the area might be for four wheel track days...I have no idea. Did a quick search and found a few but I don't know who's good and who to watch out for.

This is for a stock sports car, no track experience.

Pretty sure the higher end car orgs like to only have their makes and models running together, but I did do a Lotus track day in my car at Autobahn. I did one other Fox Valley motorcars track day at Gingerman too, which had a bunch of different cars in it, from a Ford Focus to a Ferrari F40. The PCA Road America event I did was only for Porsche though.

Gingerman allows test and tune every week if I recall.

However if you call Blackhawk, they can tell you which orgs allow your car type.

Not sure if he can get on with the SCCA guys but they pussie foot around tracks all the time

When I bought my WRX, it came with a year membership to the SCCA and I did a track day at BHF and was hanging with a lot of guys with much faster and more expensive cars

That is why my friend ran with them. He lives in the Aurora area and has fatigue issues so it being close by is perfect for him. And other than a couple small areas that could use a smoothing over its a really really good track. lots of fun and challenging to get it right.

I took my Pcar to BHF with PCA.org. There were mostly Porsches there but a number of other cars... from a sh*tbox Civic to a Mustang GT. Good org, friendly instructors. I'd do another day with them

Good power on that car, but it wallows in the corners. Hope he gets better than stock tires and maybe some suspension upgrades.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!
