Where to go for tinted windows?

Where do you guys go?

Need 20% all around on two cars. Both cars are standard 2 door cars, so 5 windows each.

Was initially thinking Umbra but they're refusing to do 20% up front as its not legal.

Would prefer something local to Northside Chicago. Had my windows tinted at Pilsen years ago on Western but they're closed now.

I had mine done at East Side Window Tint. They've been there for years and years.

3M tint, lifetime warranty. Even said that if you got pulled over, just offer to peel it off, and they'd retint one time for free.

Went there, unfortunately they're about $50 more than everyone else. Quoted me $225 compared to $180 which is about the norm.

Been quoted as little as $130 from some store on North Ave, but willing to spend right around $175-180 for the right quality job.

Not too far from Chicago Cycle used to be, and please dont recommend me Drivers Image, quoted me $250.

I went to Umbra, but as you said he won't tint below legal because now the shops can get fined if found to do it with the new law.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

How good are you? Wana make some extra money? haha

Sister just told me they bumped up the fines from $25-50 to $250 for the front windows being tinted when they changed the law.

May just get the back 3 done but still will need both cars tinted.

Where to go for tinted windows?

Paying a little more is worth it's weight in quality work, especially when it comes to window tint.

Very true, but Umbra (which does quite a few high end cars) is quoting me ~$170, and they told me somewhere around $225.

They used to do work for when I worked at a shop too, shouldve gotten the number for one of the tint guys while there.

Anyone know someone that does it on the side and does good quality work?

Do a search on here for tint. Costly Ducati got his done a couple years ago on his Audi and the guy did a great job. Someone from here recommended that guy.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

Ziebart used to do all my vehicles years ago, but closed shop near me and the price was reasonable.

what is the legal limit on tint now anyways? 35%?

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil,

'The Light at the End of the Tunnel' has been turned off.

35% on all windows, if you go darker than 35% on the rear windows you can not have ANYTHING on the front windows.

Windshield sunshades are AS1 like they have been for years. Personally I think 35% is too dark for night driving, I used to have 53% on my front windows and that was perfect. Good for day and night driving.

I have 22% on all windows and can see just fine at night. You can see into the car during the day.
