Trailer Hitch for VW Jetta?

I'm thinking of having a 1.25" hitch installed on my 2008 Jetta, primarily to lug bicycles around, but also so I can trailer a motorcycle as well.

Anyone have recommendations on where to have this done?

VW doesn't have the trailer kit anymore for this, and they recommended U-haul for install and sales.

What is the mighty CLSB consensus on this?

U-haul will be fine, unless you want to DIY then etrailer.com.

If you're near Palatine, Master Hitch can take care of you. Great work, a bit pricey, but worth it.

cool. I'm up north twice a month, so this might be do-able!

the Uhaul reference is good to know as well (wasn't sure if they were reliable or what)

I agree. I went there with my Hyundai and they were great. Even when the installer told me the hitch was good but my car was a piece of crap, he was honest. When I tipped him he wasn't surprised, so you can tell they do quality work.

Moved to proper forum.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Don't go to U-Haul. Also make sure you check with VW, if you have LED tail lights you might not be able to use the typical splice in connector, if VW has a factory one that will save headaches down the road.
