Lmfao. Suckers born every minute

Oh man where to start. I guess here:

My buddy doesn't really know jackshit about cars. So he tells me, that 4 weeks ago, when him and his wife went on vaca with their 2 kids, they were gone for a week. Well he claims his wife left the sunroof open in the car, and she claims it was him. Well, it was when we had those really bad storms, so the car got flooded on the interior. Car was totaled out

So now, they call me and stated the dealer is offering to do a 2nd clear coat the a new land rover type suv they r looking at. And I'm like "wait...a 2nd set of clearcoat on the truck? wtf is that all about?!" he tells me they go and spray a 2nd clear coat on the car and I laughed. He was like " ok, what's going on?" I stated " they can't spray a clear coat on the car without scuffing the paint, taping the car off and putting into a paint booth" he asked "what r they going to do to it then?!" I told him "you would be getting a $600 exterior detail done to it". Basically it's just a liquid wax and to NOT do it.

So yea. They r not very car smart. So I told them what to watch out foe from the dealer tryin to make extra $. They r buying a new "but dealer demo" car with 1200-1500 miles on it. So I told them that since the car has more then 200 miles on it, the dealer can not sell it as a "new car" because after 200 miles or so, it has to be sold as a used, but new car since it was never titled. So hey have to watch when the car was brought I to life as far as the warranty started on the car, along with other stuff. So they r gonna take notes, and call me from the dealer n I'll guide them through things. Lmao. This shit is too funny.

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Where did you hear that malarkey? Unless its been titled, its still considered a new car even with 5000 dealer miles.

being a demo doenst change a thing, except the dealer gets a rebate for putting the car into demo service, and thats why its less money than a 'new' one...

and from that other thread:

the sticker on your door with the tire pressures, isnt for different brands of tires, its for the recommended size of tire thats on your car. changing manufacturers of tires does nothing to the recommended pressures. the print on the sidewall has nothing to do with what your tire pressure should be set at.

It's not new, if the date of entry into service has happened. So if it was placed into service in July of 2010, and it's considered a 2011, that means they LOSE a full year of warranty coverage and can't make it up. I used to sell cars. I know the in's and out's of their bullshit. I know what they make the most $ off things.

Brian, I'll let u know. But I know the bs the dealer is trying to pull. His wife is the one that's going to get the car. They called me to ask my opinion, and I told them they are getting fucked. They also asked me about the extended warranty, and I told them to get it because rovers are known for the stupidest things happening. I have friends that have them, and had nothing but problems. I told them not to buy it, but they are stuck on the car because they really like it. I guess it's the new, smaller rover that I guess gets decent gas mileage. But my buddy stated to go with he 19" rim n tire set up vrs the stock 18" rims. I told them to look and review the tires to make sure the rubber is all weather type, and what's the length of mileage they would get out of it. It's funny how most people get scammed and don't realize it

The date a car is put into service is NOT what determines if its a 2010 or 2011. The build date does. Hell a friend bought a new car that a dealer sat on for 2 yrs (prowler) and couldnt sell for his inflated price. Finally dropped it to normal price and sold it. Friend still got the 7 yr/70K warranty and it started from the date the car sold to him (car even had 3000 on it new and his warranty automatically extended to 73,000).

If a 2011 model is sold in july of 2010, same thing, its from the time the car is delivered to the customer as to when the warranty starts. Now why manufacturers start bringing the next model years out way early like they do now is a whole other ball of wax. (fucking stupid to bring a 2012 model out in feb 2011, but they do that crap, but yet when the car is sold its still a 2012).

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Imagine the paradox possible there...you could receive a magazine from 2027, now, reviewing a brand new 2027 CBR1000RR...manufactured in 2009; as long as it sits in a showroom!

Someone post a nude to complete the trifecta.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Bullshit. Period. I bought my 2006.5 in sept of 07. Was never titled and used by dealer to transport people in the car and was a demo. I lost a year of warranty verbatim from scion when I talked to them directly. Know what u r talking about. Car only had 7500 miles on it. Because the dealer used it, they had to maintain it. Meaning it's logged into the system. So when then started using it, is when the warranty started.

Your buddy lied to you. It's how the system works dude. Hate to tell u that. He just didn't want to look like a fool for how much he paid for the car. Sure he got the extended warranty, but it maxes out at 75k or 7 years. Whichever comes first from the day it's placed into service. Like it or not, that's how it's done

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!
