autocross is primarily 1 and 2 and maybe a touch of 3rd

Active handling takes a few minutes to warm up. My buddy with a '02 z06 learned this one on an autocross field (but didn't break anything).

Probably a bit faster than it looked on the surface.....

I don't believe this. It's electronic, maybe the tires warm up but an electronic system? Nope.

Aren't most AC setups like this? The reason I was never interested in it when people I knew went was because it is a parking lot with curbs, light posts, etc.

Google search it, the system needs to calibrate itself.

I did some AC in the past and I've seen it later on youtube. Inside it feels like you are doing a WRC rally, from outside ... like looking for a parking spot in front of a church But this guy looked really slow. And the track had an extremely bad layout. Or just the location was bad. Kind of like Maywood Park in Chicago. That's way I preferred SCCA in Joliet. Less laps, more cars, but much safer. Here is how it looks from inside at SCCA event.

I saw a corvette loose a back wheel at an AutoX in Louisville. The fiberglass body ripped right up the wheel well. That's the worst I've ever seen. You can design a course to be as safe as possible, but AutoX includes people that are usually just getting into motorsports...and they often have more balls than skill. Lots of HP and no skill does not usually equal fast times or controlled driving...

I had to laugh when I saw the front end bra. You just know that's not going to end well.

And I'll take a corvette over a miata any day, even at an autocross.

I'm still trying to figure out how he managed to break the back end free like that. I know Vette's have a huge power induced over steer issue but it hardly sounds like he was on the gas.

Ouch, too much power and not enough weight on the backside.

The sound it made hitting the curb was interesting... kinda like when you drop one of those old-plastic toy cars on to the sidewalk.
