State Farm's 1968 Camaro Project

State Farm insures 375,000 classic/antique vehicles (we also do bikes FYI!!). Haggerty, the only larger insurer of classics, has 400,000 cars insured.

We recently took in a 1968 Camaro on a total loss. The company decided to keep it, and restore it to show the world how well we appreciate and fix these vehicles, and use it as a marketing tool.

One side was restored original, the other, a Resto Mod. Pretty cool idea!!

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Roped off, couldn't get a full side view pic. (Note: the pic was taken by one of my staff at the Chicago Auto Show this year).

My 64 Beetle as well, though one of the people at my agents office stated that they don not have a classic/antique policy for motorcycles like they do cars. Is this true or are they misinformed?

Made me second guess myself...but...called underwriting just to verify nothing has changed.

Yes, we do write antique/classic motorcycle policies. Just like cars, it's got to quality based on age, etc...but it can be done.

I stand corrected. 1/2 the motor restored, 1/2 the motor original!!

What a crazy and awesome idea.

doing that for the body/interior was a cool idea. doing that for the motor was fucking stupid. what a waste.
